Job at EA

So I live in Vancouver, and EA Sports is based out of here. I get this phone call from my roommates mom telling us both about positions at a graphics design studio in a firm in Vancouver, and she would call us back with the number and details.

So she calls back, and she's like "Oh yeah, its at a place called EA Sports, you ever hear about that?"

Apparently they have programmers working round the clock there and they need people to make sandwiches, and do dishes. Hell i'd probably have a part time job doing dishes somewhere anyway, so why not do it at the god of sports games' headquarters?

:D

Nice way to get your foot in the door, eh? You should tell them to bring the injured player ambulance back to the madden franchise.

That's some cool shit, I'm a manager of an EB Games outlet but would love to actually work for a Game Producing company.

My friend's sister's boyfriend works there as a tester, whenever we hang out he's always complaining about it and I just SO want to deck him, I would love a job getting paid to play games :|

You do not want to get a job testing games. Sure it's fun at first but it gets old after a while. Then eventually you do not want to touch a video game again.

wow, I play the triple play baseball game! cool!
Ya, why not!

that's how I got my start at doing game with Disney in 89...

IMHO it's fun until you do it for 60-100 hours a week... especially when it's games that suck or games that aren't targeted to you or don't interest you, or don't appeal to you.... etc.

I was actually paid by EA to do some cartoons. It took forEVER to get that gig, then they shut down the site a month after we got the contract signed. Spit in a sandwich for me.

Thats pretty cool, I would like to work at a games producer. Can't say that I know of many in Australia though.

jasonresno 02-03-2004 07:15 PM

So , wow that is pretty cool. My sisters husband is a beta tester...which is pretty cool too.

ratbastid 02-04-2004 07:22 AM

^ I Ain't a-Skeered, jasonresno!

Listen, you need to go in there and be Mr Subliminal. Sit at your desk and mutter "XBox Live..... XBox Live..... XBox Live...."

NoseyJoe 02-04-2004 10:07 PM

Thats a fantastic opportunity! I love EA sports and all of their games. I wonder if you would get a discount and free shit?

wrongfullyaccuzd 02-06-2004 10:00 AM

That's awesome. I would take that in a second. Foot in the door, like someone said. Not to mention just a cool place to work. Who knows who you will befriend and what they can get you! (As well as having a new friend, too, of course...trying to not be too cynical..)

Hey bigbad what is your sister's bf's name? If you don't mind...

I know a few testers there maybe I know him.

moonstrucksoul 02-13-2004 09:47 AM

sounds like a good job, regardless of the the fact that you would be making food for computer programmers.
