				Military Physical

Ok, so I passed all the easy parts of getting into the Coast Guard. I did well on the test, I got several people to swear they know me and like me.

Now it is time for the physical, and I must admit I am a little worried. Has anyone been through it before? How hard are they going to look? If I look and feel fit and have good eyesight and hearing, is that going to be ok? Or are they going to break my DNA down into its component parts and search for any slight abnormalities? I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before and what sort of things they might be looking out for.

Don't sweat the MEPS. If you're not messed up you'll pass. When I had to go to MEPS the majority of the people that got a "no pass" got them because they were overweight. Just make sure you don't go overweight because they'll tell you not to return until you've lost the weight.

They'll test your eyes and ears as well. If you're not blind or deaf you'll pass. They'll draw your blood and take a urine sample. They'll even check you if you have alcohol in your breath. Then they measure your height and weigh you. Then the actual physical part. They'll just check to see if you have deformities, "lumps", things like that. Then they see your balance, if you can walk without limps, etc. The best part of it is when it's all over you'll get a free lunch! Oh one thing. If they ask you questions, just say no. They're there to try to disqualify you. Unless you have serious conditions, just say no. Cause having to get waivers is a pain in the butt (or so I hear).

It can be a long day if you've had surgeries or broken bones in the past. If you haven't, well it will still be a long day.

I think the worse part was "duck walking". Squatting down real low and waddling across the floor for the doc. He is going to grope you and have you cough.....probably even take a peek at your ass. Nothing serious!!

			Good Luck!!
