Something that worked for me:
Geocaching It combines physical activity and internet/computer activity very nicely. A small investment in more electronics, mental exercise for some of the puzzles and a walkabout in your neighborhood. Could be just what the dr. ordered! |
maybe you should stop reading this forum ;)

Something that worked for me, though there have been some relapses.
Get a daily planner and keep a detailed record of what you do everyday and reread it frequently. When you actually have to write "6:00 PM -12:00 PM: Looked for boobies on internet" and then remind yourself of it every time you reread it you're a lot less likely to do it. |
When you go to your little space, just don't turn it on for an hour or whatever. In my case, I have cable, so I just don't turn on the monitor. Then you can do something different, like read a book, or make a list of your goals, or plot the doom of those on the dark side.

I'm changing jobs, I love the web, and am completely addicted to message boards. But at the same time i hate how much time I spend on it at work. It's the cube man... makes you web crazy.
