Injured Bird
 
Today i found an injured bird. Im not sure whats wrong with him exactly. He cant fly (and he is not an Emu). I think he might have flown into one of our windows. The bird is a Bulbul. I have called the local wildlife care service, and will keep you updated on his/her progress.

Is the bird holding one wing straight out while hobbling around? Hopefully it didn't break it's wing.

That poor thing. I hope it gets better.

Poor bird. I found one once that I thought was injured, so we got into my friends car and was on my way to my house where my dad could take a look at it. While on our way there, I was holding it and the bird decided it wasn't injured anymore. It started flying around everywhere! It was humurous, after we'd parked and let it out of the car to fly away.

Guys,
You wouldnt believe what happened. I left him in the box for a bit, then i went to check on him. He jumped out of the box and flew straight up INTO OUR CIELING FAN. And, somehow he survived this. I managed to catch him again, then took him outside. He flew away quite gracefully. i watched him sit in a tree for a bit, he chirped at me for a bit- then flew straight up into the sky and far away. I hope he is ok. Thanks for the good vibes everyone.

he's scared, he's suicidal. gotta love nature's Firght or Flight concept. kinda backfires every nowand then.

had a friend who had a great horned owl who was hit by a car and they kept it for 4 days. most placid animal ever. and beautiful.

YAY! he just needed to rest. probably just bruised his wing or something. i dunno!

One time my brothers and I rescued a bird (baby out of the nest I think). We fed it water dripped from a wet paper towel. My little brother was pretty young, he tried feeding the bird and ended up choking the bird with a piece of paper towel. It was some sad stuff.

Glad to hear the bird is fine, almostaugust.

It reminds me of that Christmas song about a poor girl that finds an injured bird and nurses it back to good health.
If I'm not mistaken, she then gives it to the Virgin Mary at the Nativity.

Anybody know the song I'm talking about, and the name of the singer?

Even funnier is that the birds on tv in that scene were flamingos!

My cousin found a baby crow in his yard and took it in and cared for it, It thinks my cousin is it's mother..... that crow is so funny! He steals stuff and hides it in his 'secret spot' He says dirty words and rips up any magazine that he can find...... if you set something shiny down like keys he will take them and place them at your feet....... but when you try to pick them up he will grab them and fly away. :D

When we find birds on the ground that our dogs haven't got to, they're usually just stunned from flying into our windows. Give them a safe place to recoup for a little while, and they're usually good as new!

I always find dirt marks from birds hitting my window.. except the marks are inside... and made by my two pet birds

Hooray! I'm glad to hear that he's alright too. I love animals and I always end up taking in whatever creature wanders near my house, esp. injured ones.

...just hope that he didn't fly straight out into a tree or something, right after hitting that fan...that had to hurt him physically and mentally! Hope theres no brain damage:lol:...good luck birdie!
