Some help please

Hello Well I had a question, I love working out and lifting weights for the fact it makes me feel great and its a great way to kill time. 2 years ago I was at 225 pounds, now I'm at 170ish, I'm 5"10. Now that I've lost 50somewhat pounds I feel great and healthier then ever but I still have a gut and loose skin on my stomach from when I was 225 and I wanna know how I can tone it. I run a few miles every other day and switch on and off liftings weights etc. Hope yall can help me. Thanks in advance.

hey... if it's actual gut fat, then you just need to keep up the dieting and cardio, along with a healthy dose of lifting... but, if it's really just loose skin, not a little fat pouch, but excess skin from your fat days, then as far as i know, you have two options...
1) wait, hope it unstretchs (the proper word eludes me right now, but you get the drift). it takes time for skin to shrink (that's it!) back to fit properly after being stretched out, especially if it was stretched for a while.

2) get it surgically removed.

that's all i can think of that you can do.

Made me chuckle

Anyhow, Mael is right...not much you can do except wait till it "shrinks" back to normal or have a tummy tuck to get rid of that excess skin. Getting fat does horrible things with your skin...you basically lose the elasticity of it from it being stretched so much (sort of like some socks do). To make matters worse, as we get older our skin naturally loses its elasticity therefore even making that flabby skin syndrom worse for people losing a lot of weight in ages above their 20s. Either way, you have lost the weight and that is something to be proud of . Give the loose skin some time to retract is the best advice I could give ya.

I to have lost about 50 pounds. And i have loose skin as well i could do alot more cardio and lose alittle more with proper diet.

But i myself will have loose skin my whole life. Unless i go see that plastic surgery man. Reason being i was overweight my entire childhood untill 26. :< So i feel for ya man.

As for giving you advice on what ya can do. Like the others posted those are basically your only options. Those MAJIKCAL skin tighter creams DO NOT work.. :>

Goodluck on yer workout plan.

I have that loose skin from my pregnancy days and from being 50 lbs heavier for a year after. It helps it a lot when I keep it toned but there's still the looser skin. The only thing I know of is surgical help. Keeping my abbs toned helps but doesn't take it all away.

Don't get a liposuction. From what I've heard about those kinds of things, you'd have to stay on strict diet in order to avoid getting that gut coming back. If you just work it out, you can stick to whatever diet you're on and while you're at it, gain some more muscle.

We aren't talking about liposuction, we are talking about tummy tuck (a procedure to remove the excess skin).

My wife is a yoga instructor, and I've seem some amazing things over time from serious yoga work from other people. I haven't taken the plunge myself - yet - but I know the flexibility portion will help weight lifting and overall toning. You should see the sweat she works up in 45 minutes!
