Romantic long weekend

Looking for romantic long weekend ideas. Am near Chicago, so bonus points for proximity.

San Antonio has been suggested. What are some other favorite spots?

Coast of South Carolina, particularly Georgetown and Charleston. Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.

Stillwater MN at a B&B - Just outside of Minneapolis.

Might Suggest the Jersey Shore, you can enjoy the surf, and then watch the Mets, or Maybe the Giants if it's football season. Plus there's always Atlantic City nearby.

Saugatuck Michigan

Ceasars resorts in the Poconos. You can get a giant champagne glass jacuzzi and swimming pool in your room. Its really great for a weekend getaway.

I can vouch for Charleston, SC. Yoshi lived there when we were dating, so I was down at least once a month. It's still one of our favorite cities - and we're doing our damndest to live there full time. United has direct flights, I believe.

If you're looking for a little closer to home, what about the Smoky Mountains? A B&B in the woods as the leaves change?

Niagara Falls isn't too far from Chicago. A zillion newlywed couples can't be wrong!

The river walk in SanAntonio at Christmas time is great---they have a parade and it is on the barges that take people during the day.....the lights and music at night is fantastic.

The smokies is a bit far for a weekend from Chicago, I dont think there are any direct flights. You can fly ATA or US Air to Charlotte then drive ( 3 1/2 hrs) or fly on to Asheville, NC, which is a nice destination too.

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN are popular spots, kind of Kitschy as is Cherokee on the NC side. These are developed to cater to the tourist.
Fontana Village is nice place with cabins and all. Go to Cades Cove and Clingmans Dome. It is a good place for hiking and the views are great in November (not as "smokie"). Mountain biking trails and whitewater rafting is available.

This time of year I really have to reccomend Charleston. It is always nice, lil more cozy in November and your activities arent as likely to be hindered by the weather. Also great food.

I live in the shadow of the smoky mountains!!
I am about 30 minutes out of Gatlinburg.
Its so pretty here. I love this place sometimes.

If you havent ever come here, a cozy little cabin on the top of a mountain is kinda romantic but I guess romance is something inside. A real romantic can make anyplace that way.

I believe in ya! Good luck!

Another vote for the Smokies. I go to gatlinburg every year and love it! Cades cove is really nice and the park is awesome! Plenty to do or you can do nothing and have a great time. Plenty of rentals with hottubs!
