I miss my dog
Yesterday my 6 year old Chinese Pug, Bogie, was hit and killed by a passing car. He was a great dog and we miss him.
We buried him in the backyard and my oldest daughter and I are going to make a marker today. love ya Bogie. |
sorry bro...

A good dog is part of the family. My condolences.
|
We lost our dog a couple of months back, I feel for you buddy.
|
Augh! I'm so sorry - that's awful. I hope you have good memories.
|
I'm sorry, I know exactly how you feel, my cat died last week from leukemia, and she's been my bed mate for 5 years, its sad when you go to sleep cold the first time.
I'm sorry for your loss, neddy, I truly understand. |
I lost my first dog in 1999. Grew up with him until we were both 17. Then an infection took over him and we had to put him to sleep. So I feel for you. Just keep going. Get another dog eventually, it'll help you out.

i am so sorry that you lost your baby...that is awful...i lost my boston terrier few years ago, it still tears me up to see them, she was my best friend...i hope you feel better soon
|
I havne't lost my dog, but she is four hours away back home and I miss her. :(
|
mine finally passed away in august :( I wrote about her in my journal.
death is never fun, but it's a part of life and all we can do is accept that =\ |
Ya know, pet's aren't human. They don't talk to you, their loyalty is to whomever is feeding them and they can be such a pain (pooping, peeing, chewing).
Yet I miss my dog like ya wouldn't believe. I'm not sure why, but our dog became a part of our family. He was one of the kids. For 13 years he was my buddy. |
Yeah...a pet dying is always bad. Its made even worse by the fact that when the pet dies from not just old age or anything. The one dog I remember was when I was little (probably 6) and he got hit by a car but lived for another few hours. The vet had to come out to the hosue and put him down. I really don't remember that much but when I was lookign through old pictures a while ago and saw the dog it was just sad.

Thanks everybody for your words. Bogie was a big part of our family and we will miss him a lot. My other dog Dexter, a shelty, is taking it pretty hard too. Last night he wandered from room to room and never really slept cause I'm sure he misses Bogie too( they slept together usually)

aw *hugs* neddy65
we had an older dog we had to euthanize cuz he got cancer. our younger dog did seriously grieve. so we got him a puppy. a bit sooner than we would have, cuz it was soooo sad watching a dog grieve. |
|
sorry to hear that. dogs, or any pets are definitely part of the family.
|
My dog is about 15 years old now. She has started to have small seizures and is in declining health. I live 3 hours away from my dog and go to college, and I have to face the fact that, when she dies, it is almost certain that I will not be there to comfort her or watch her go. She has had a good life, one that I have at times even envied, and although it's not my fault, I hate myself for not being able to do this last thing for her. I really feel for you and hope it gets better. I am not getting another dog after this. Maybe if I have kids, they can get a dog, but it will never be mine.

the dog had a great life with you, right? i think that's the only way i'll be able to comfort myself. |
I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy losing one of the furry family members...my heart goes out to you and your family.
|
Give it time, my first pet died about 2 months ago. I still get sad and actually cried the other day when looking at pictures of him as a kitten. But every day I feel a little better. But the first two weeks were terrible. Give it time.
RIP Bogie. |
*sniff*
I can't imagine what my time spent at home would be like without my two little bits of trouble. So sorry. |
I'm truly sorry for your loss. :(

sorry to hear...
my dog just had a stroke this afternoon and is doing not so well. he's coherrent and seems to know what's going on, but his body just can't find its coordination. he can move, but walking is impossible. 15 years old. i guess it is his time. i feel so aweful for him. i've broke down taking care of him twice already. |
some decently good news:
our family made the decision to take him to the vet this afternoon to have him put down. that was probably THE saddest thing i've had to do in a VERY VERY long time. i was doing pretty bad, but i felt much better thinking that we had done what was best. so my parents took him to the vet, and just called. it turns out that he didnt have a stroke at all, but instead a SEVERE ear infection which brought upon vertigo. it does make sense though. he's got the side to side movement of one of his eyes, and absolutely no balance. i'm somewhat happier, and hope that this clears up sooner rather than later. i was told that it might take a long time or not at all considering his age (15). the crazy thing is that was completely fine at around noon when i came home to visit my parents. then, about 3 hours later, after a trip to Costco, we came home to find him the way he is. that's why we figured he had had a stroke or a seizure of some sort. |

The problem has not reoccurred, and the cat is still running amok today. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. |
he's doing better today.
i came over to my parents this morning to take care of him. took him outside to go to the bathroom. he's drinking plenty of water which is good, but no food as of this morning. which is pretty much understandable. he's pretty much seeing this   he is walking on his own now. drunken stumbles is what i'm going to call it. he's also walking in circles, which looks like is taking care of some of the spins. its like he's learning how to walk all over again. this dog.....he's a stubborn old man. smarter than fuck, so he's pretty much determined to figure this out somehow. hopefully this will pass in a couple of days. |
