Fresno california?
Thinkg of going to college there next year. Opinions?
|
one option is NOT going to college there next year!
|
I did not go there, and have only been there once, have had alot of friends who did go there, and loved it. Have to be careful where you live though.
|
dunno ... never been

It's under travel, so I'm reviving this thread rather than start a new one.
I'm going to be in Fresno for a weekend for a wedding this summer. Is there anything that I should do while there? I don't care for nightlife; I'd be looking more for modern art / craftwork / nature / etc. |
Whatever you do, make sure all valuables are out of your car. Fresno is the one of the number one hot spots in the U.S for stolen cars.
** Edit: Found link: http://www.theclub.com/autotheftfacts.html Apparently Phoenix is #1, so I'm going outside to heed my advice |
Wow. I can't wait.
Seriously, does Fresno have ANY redeeming qualities? |
Fresno is a Central Valley town very much like the vast majority of those extending across America which are filled with chain stores and restaurants.
Mostly it is very hot in the summer. |
i've been to Fresno.
i spent a few days there on an orchestra tour... hate to say it, but it was EASILY the shittiest town i've ever been to. i listed it thus in that Most Loved/Hated Cities thread over in Tilted Travel. redeeming qualities... well, its not far from Yosemite or Kings Canyon, and if i remember correctly, there are a few factory outlet shops around there, so it does have cheap shoes and such. from memory there was also an architecturally interesting Council Building in town... through which you can even go on guided tours!!! |
In Fresno, the best restaurants are in the malls. Sorry.
