Can i ask why?

it is so you feel more full and eat less of the bad stuff...like empty carbs and saturated fats.

The rule is to actually eat the apple 20-30 minutes b4 you eat your meals cause it takes that long for your mind to process that you are becoming full. So when you do sit down for dinner or lunch you will not eat as much and therefore intake less calories and therefore lose weight.

If your goal is weight loss, then skip the apple and have a huge glass of water. Fruits are best left in moderation when losing fat. They are very in sugars (carbs).

Doesn't it take a lot of energy to burn apples too? like when you compare calories and the amount you spend digesting it ends up being a lot less than what you started or something. So you can eat as many apples as you want.

Eh? Too many sugars in those fruits when you are aiming at a low BF %. Avoid em :)

BubblegumTeflon - a very popular urban myth but as yet unfounded. It is true many foods have a very low energy density wrt how much we usually consume at one sitting, but, no food as yet burns more calories in its metabolism by the body than what it provides i.e. a negative energy balance .... the body is much cleverer than that and so is the evolution of our hormonal related digestive tract.

low BF%? Are you nuts? I'm trying to bulk up!!!! hahaha
