too much sweat...

It seems that I am constantly sweating from my forehead. It doesn't matter if it is hot or cold. It's really annoying, and embarrassing. I am in good shape and have a decent diet. This has been going on for a long time and I am getting tired of it.

I was looking at some ways to prevent this and found that people use botox, which I won't do. Certain medications can stop it, but it can be unhealthy because it prevents any sweat from leaving your body. People also use aluminum, which is in underarm deodorant, but now I here aluminum may cause Alzheimer’s, so this does not seem good either. Anyone out there deal with this or have any advice? Thanks.

Drysol (prescription), although uses aluminum chloride. It will not cause cancer.

I heard that burnt food can cause cancer, so everything can give you cancer. Dont worry about it.

the alzheimer's claim is bogus, old wives' tale. just bring a pack of tissue around with you. Sweating easily most likely reflects on your fitness...it's a good thing, shows that your body responds well.

The link between aluminium and Alzheimer's is merely that aluminium has been found in the plaques in Alzheimer's brains. There's no evidence that I know of to suggest that the aluminium actually caused the plaques.

Sadly, fit people have a lower threshold for sweating (you've tuned your body to control its temperature really well) which is the problem you're having. But so long as the sweating is localised, you should be fine to use something on the area to stop it - seek advice from a doctor to get something based on aluminium chloride.

There are stronger substances - you've read about botulinum toxin; there's also glycopyrronium bromide - but I'd consult your doctor about those and stick with the aluminium salts if they work.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably just deal with it and wait for winter...

I've read that the more in-shape that you are, the easier you sweat. It's a matter of your body being ready for activity.

I also remember hearing that increased sweat can be caused by insufficient sodium in the body. I don't know if there's truth in that or not, though.

I've heard excess sweating can also be an indication of something with the liver. Unfortunately I remember only that much...just enough to make it seem like I'm making it up.

But it is more than likely the fact that you are more in shape. As said previously, your body is better set to handle activity and regulate temp. Plus your metabolism is higher...raising your temp slighty.

I tend to sweat very easily and, man, do I suffer over summer. All I've ever been able to do about it is wear less; even in winter I'm usually in t-shirt and jeans; I'll move to lighter footwear for summer.

I am happy my office is very cold most of the time. It is definately annoying.

Well, I sweat a lot too, but I just carry a little handkerchief with me so I can dry the sweat. Used to bother me, but I've learned to live with it.

I sweat a lot too, and I tend to do so quite easily. I'm not very athletic and I'm a bit "slender" so I don't know how fit I am. I figure its normal that a chunk of the population sweats more. I try to reduce my physical activity and stay in cool areas. Excitement or nervousness also causes sweat, so I tend to sweat while watching movies or sci-fi TV shows.

Glad to see I'm not alone.
