should i vacation in cayucos or pismo beach?
 

my wife and i usually stay/vacation in san luis obispo for 3-4 days at least once a year. (we live in so cal and it's a quick change of pace)

now that our son is two and a half we thought maybe it would be better to stay somewhere near the beach and just visit SLO.

has anyone stayed in cayucos or pismo? If so which do you like and do you recommend anywhere in particular to stay. We want to spend between 120-180 a night. breakfast included would be cool.

Why not go a little further north to San Simeon?
Got a (Best Western) room there two years ago-- right on the ocean---beautiful--plus the sea lions hang out in droves there and if you want to, you can go into the quaint village of Cambria, 7 miles to the south, for touristy stuff- art galleries, etc.

I never cared for Cayucos--it's kind of a crap little town. So of the two, it'd be Pismo.

look into the inn at avila beach. it's really nice. avila beach has better weather, is not nearly as touristy as pismo beach, and has a much nicer beach.

I've heard that Pismo is an incredible place to get away and relax, I've never stayed there but did a quick search and this is what I've found....
