I am planning on going to donate next Monday after I get off work. It helps that my work hosts a blood drive every couple of months. I just need to get on their donation schedule instead of my university's.

It also sounds like I've convinced my husband to join me in donating :)

Well, he was going to join me, but then it turned out he had a conference to go to in Portland. He brought me a box of doughnuts from Portland to help me recover from donation, so I can't hold it against him :)

It went smoothly but a lot slower. I think it's because I donated out of my left arm this time. Next time, I'm going to insist on my right arm. I am not a fan of donating out of my left arm--the only good vein she could find was way up on one side of the inside of my elbow, almost on the outside of my arm! She also had to adjust the needle once to get this vein to work.

I also don't think she got the hint that I didn't like her because she decided to pick a harder vein than just looking at my left arm. She kept saying I was doing fine, but I was giving her a grumpy face because she had no people skills.
