So, yeah, my woman and I were talking about "our plans" for the next few years. Nothing serious, really. I'm going to be getting a much better job in 2012 and said job will most likely involve moving to another state and acquiring a larger dwelling... one of those single family home things I've been craving. I've been dreaming of having a back yard bigger than my bedroom floor so I can finally achieve my goal of passing out drunk in a hammock. Having a yard also means I can expand my herd of critters beyond that crazy fish she has and the snarky asshole cat of mine that you all know and love.

As a side note: Jesus, I can't believe I've been with the same girl for two years straight. What's wrong with me?

Anyway, turns out the talk of pets came up. We're both huge animal people and really love dogs and cats. They're a smarter choice than kids. Cats are a no-brainer but the dogs thing became an issue when we were talking about breeds. She is absolutely adamant about having a basset hound and would really like a dachshund. I wanted a blue heeler (Mel Gibson's awesome sidekick in The Road Warrior) so I'd have a buddy to take hiking and running. If you didn't immediately think it: this combination of breeds is probably a horrible choice. Careless awkward wandering lazy dog that howls randomly. Tiny helpless sausage dog that may just get punted across the living room if it isn't careful. Hyper OCD herding dog that will freak out when the bedroom door is closed and sexy time is going down. Got to thinking that TFP might have some funny tales about dog breed mashups due to relationships.

Anybody have any funny dog breed combination stories?
