Living room furniture

Now that we have to rent out the apartment downstairs, I am basically in an apartment myself. We have 3 bedrooms, large eat in kitchen and a living room. Bringing things that were downstairs into the upstairs is making it very cramped and I feel closed in. In the living room, I have a couch and a loveseat, computer desk, tv, and more. I had to put many of my son's toys in the living room (his room is a small box with not much closet space) - including a table meant for a train set, that he uses for his LEGOs.

Ok, now that I rambled. My question is: Do I really need to have a couch AND a loveseat? Will a couch and rocking chair be enough? It is mostly just the kids and myself, I hardly ever have company. I don't want to remove the table he uses for his LEGOs. He seems attached to it and since their father moved out, I didn't want to cause unnecessary stress for my son. The only thing I can think of is to get rid of the loveseat.

Sell it. Ain't no law says you have to have a couch and a loveseat.

I have a fairly large den/family room area, but due to windows and the placement of the kitchen, anything but a couch would look silly. I do have a large ottoman, though, which serves as my coffee table but it doubles as extra seating. You can always bring chairs from other areas when you need them for guests.

I had a brown leather love seat with the couch I have now. I gave it to a friend who was in dire need of furniture. So now all I have in there is a large coffee table and the leather couch along with decorative stuff and things. But I don't really have company either. When I do, it's only one other person. So I don't mind it at all. Besides who couldn't use some extra $?

I wish I could sell it. It is old, like 13 years old with a ripped seam. I think I will just bring out to the garbage. It served its purpose. I have a rocking chair to put in its place, that takes up much less room.

Craigslist it. Even if you can't sell it, you may be able to get someone else to do the work of carting it away.

Absolutely. Trust me...no matter how crappy you think that it is, there is someone out there that wants it because it's better than theirs.
