Friendship... confused.
Hello TFP,
forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I just really messed things up with a really good friend I have. We have both made it clear that we are nothing but friends, but when we first met, I did have more than friend feelings towards her. I want nothing but the best for her, and if she doesnt wanna be anything more, I'm not going to push it and I am perfectly fine with it. This past week I did some things that I'm not particularly proud of, and I have already confronted her about it. I feel that she should no longer be wasting time on me because I have nothing good to offer her. Yet she insists that she still wants me there and shes wants to work things out. I feel horrible that I put her through what I did (gonna have to let your mind wander on that), and I just want her to move on and be happy without me. However she doesnt seem to want to let me go like that. Does anybody know why I / she is feeling this way? I've asked her why she wants to hold onto me, but she doesnt really have a reason. Anybody have an idea whats going on? Is there something I'm overlooking? Thanks |
I think that if you really wanted to be gone then you would be.
What are you looking to get out of all of this? |
Stop with the martyrdom. It doesn't do any good for anyone.
Also, how about not treating her like a child and letting her decide for herself what makes her happy. |
Don't be so hard on yourself, life is too short. So you made a mistake, your human, it happens. It's admirable that you owned up to it and apologized. She sees something in you worth keeping around, for what reason would you question that?
As for answering your questions, it's really hard to know anything when given such little information about the actual situation. |
She might just be biding her time, waiting for the right moment, to exact sweet revenge.
Or, she could be hurt and just not know what to do. |
