I had pho for dinner last night... so I guess GH has a point. :D

inBOIL 05-01-2008 09:14 PM

Raisin bran. I got lazy.

Fotzlid 05-01-2008 09:23 PM

Italian sub (grinder, hoagie...whatever you want to call them) and coffee yogurt.

shesus 05-01-2008 09:26 PM

Thursday is fast food day. One of my student's parents started bringing me lunch the second week of school and it's now a habit after 6 months.

Sonic cheeseburger, tater tots, and a coke.

Fotzlid 05-04-2008 12:43 PM

Lobster, steamers and shrimp

ÐiGiRed 05-04-2008 01:02 PM

cinnamon roll

snowy 05-04-2008 01:27 PM

We had a picnic lunch at a local park--I made a baguette sandwich with herbed goat cheese, watercress, cucumber, radish, and sprouts. We also had some snacky things--Cheez-Its, granola bars, and fruit leather.

Willravel 05-04-2008 02:04 PM

Baked chicken breast, egg whites with goats cheese and peppers, and a small plain organic yogurt with fresh raspberries. The raspberries were a bit tart, just the way I like them.

Bear Cub 05-04-2008 07:22 PM

Fantastic today. The SO's mother made these sweet and hot italian sausages with onions and peppers on fresh rolls, BLT's, and some potato and cheese pierogies.

Starshine 05-04-2008 08:32 PM

This thread makes me hungry for good food! All I have is special K red berries....

genuinegirly 05-04-2008 08:59 PM

Went out to brunch.
Scrambled eggs + thick buttermilk pancakes wrapped around boca sausages, with syrup.

jewels 05-05-2008 02:28 AM

Sunday I had some of my potato-leek soup :D

little_tippler 05-05-2008 05:43 AM

That's it, if I ever get to Portugal you have to have lunch with me and discuss art.

Esoteric 05-05-2008 12:31 PM

Buffalo chicken sandwich with provolone and bleu cheese, water to drink. Got it from a local restaurant called Stingray's. Delicious food.

Willravel 05-05-2008 12:33 PM

Chicken in a spinach sauce with potato wedges.

Giant Hamburger 05-05-2008 12:58 PM

Grilled chicken, acorn squash and broiled cabbage.
I feel light and airy today.
I ate a healthy meal which may be a sign of the apocalypse!

snowy 05-05-2008 01:45 PM

A salad made with spinach, cremini mushrooms, avocado, and shrimp with light Thousand Island dressing (I can't eat a shrimp salad without it).

genuinegirly 05-05-2008 03:12 PM

Lentil soup.

sapiens 05-05-2008 04:29 PM

Leftover pizza. My daughter's 5th birthday party was yesterday afternoon. By the time we got home, we didn't feel like cooking.

Fotzlid 05-05-2008 09:07 PM

Mushroom pizza

jewels 05-06-2008 12:21 AM

Bialy with nova and cream cheese.

You'll be the first to know. Ok, second I have to plan the trip.

Though my next trip to Europe is likely years out.

Willravel 05-22-2008 04:45 PM

Home-made turkey sub sandwich!

I started out with a wheat hoagie roll. I slapped down some deli turkey provolone, more turkey, tomato, onion, green peppers, and some chipotle sauce.

CinnamonGirl 05-22-2008 04:51 PM

It's a school day, and the caf doesn't normally have stuff I like... so today it was just veggie soup (which was better than I thought it would be) with a mini spinach salad. Dinner will (hopefully) be a little more spectacular.

snowy 05-22-2008 07:54 PM

tortilla chips with salsa and a sandwich with whole wheat bread and Toby's tofu pate (http://www.tobysfamilyfoods.com/).

Willravel 05-23-2008 11:51 AM

Potato chips and tuna.

The tuna was simple enough. Combine tuna, onions, garlic, paprika, and olive oil in a pan and quickly fry. The chips were salt and pepper flavored kettle chips.

sapiens 05-23-2008 11:55 AM

A bowl of wheat chex. Very exciting!

Leto 05-23-2008 11:57 AM

- Peanut butter and mixed berry jam on wholewheat sandwich
- 2 Activia yoghurt cups (1 peach & 1 prune)
- 1 sweet & salty almond granola bar
- 1 over-ripe banana
- 1 cup of coffee

No spice? I mean, the spice must flow.

Leto 05-23-2008 12:34 PM

you made me laugh! I'll get you for that.

Shauk 05-23-2008 01:40 PM

turkey sub from quizno's

snowy 05-23-2008 02:02 PM

On Friday I eat whatever I want for lunch--normally I don't go for fast food but I'm easily suggestible and Burger King has been running their Indiana Jones promo ads nonstop, so...a Whopper Jr. with cheese, cut in half, no lettuce, a medium fry, and a giant Diet Coke. The total bummer is that I didn't win anything in the Indiana Jones game. :(

Strange Famous 05-23-2008 02:07 PM

steak sandwich, chips, and a pint of stout & mild

LoganSnake 05-23-2008 02:26 PM

You eat steak with chips? Weird.

Gyros with fries for me.

Grancey 05-23-2008 03:16 PM

Beef stew from my favorite cafe. And, in addition, a fun discussion with the owner about gas prices, the presidential race, real estate and corruption in politics.

vancityboi 05-23-2008 03:31 PM

stir fried noodles my gf made me :D

Charlatan 05-23-2008 04:28 PM

I went out to my new favourite Chinese Food place and had an awesome assortment of dumplings and steamed buns. Very satisfying.

Grasshopper Green 05-23-2008 04:34 PM

I had Chinese with a friend I work with. The best part about lunch was a creepy old lady kept staring at us and listening to our conversation for the entire meal.

highthief 05-23-2008 05:37 PM

Had a burger on the BBQ - sirloin with onions, garlic, pickle, relish, mustard and ketchup on a crustini bun.

It was so good, I had it again for dinner!

snowy 05-23-2008 07:07 PM

The mention of Chinese food made me eat it for dinner. I had chicken in garlic sauce. Yummm.

girldetective 05-31-2008 11:32 AM

One egg over medium with a piece of Vita's most flavorful herb bread and coffee with half-and-half. mmmmmm

canuckguy 05-31-2008 11:41 AM

The lady in my life took me to our favourite lunch dinner called Fatty Patty's famous for their hamburgers! We hit this place up every Saturday.

Anyway, burger on a white bun, cheddar cheese, bacon, bbq sauce, onion, pickle, lettuce, tomato and mustard...fries and a coke. Oh so good!

lotsofmagnets 05-31-2008 11:45 AM

8 strips of bacon and 6 eggs. it was a breakfast + lunch

Bear Cub 05-31-2008 11:56 AM

Two crackers. I'm starving, and we've got nothing to eat here!

noodle 05-31-2008 12:08 PM

2 lightly salted rice cakes, 2T natural crunchy peanut butter, 1t organic honey and one banana. My favorite open-faced sammiches. :)

ÐiGiRed 05-31-2008 12:23 PM

Fotzlid 05-31-2008 01:00 PM

Some fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil all on some toasted french bread rubbed with garlic.

Charlatan 05-31-2008 04:11 PM

toasted corned beef sandwich...

Willravel 05-31-2008 04:24 PM

If anyone ever sees me with an egg roll, slap it out of my hands. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sick/sick0022.gif

Sapiens' lunch sounds good, though....

StellaLuna 05-31-2008 04:54 PM

Ramen noodles!!!!

Grasshopper Green 05-31-2008 07:30 PM

Avocado sandwich on wheat bread. I smash an avocado, spread on toasted bread, sprinkle on some pepper and eat open faced. When I'm really feeling adventurous, I add a slice of tomato or some bacon. But it's good with just the avocado.

I also had some leftover mashed potatoes. mmmmmm

lotsofmagnets 06-01-2008 03:20 AM

i hate each and every one of you for eating so healthily :expressionless:

ktspktsp 06-01-2008 05:45 AM

Freeze-dried pasta with meat sauce. We were camping. And I ground and made my French press coffee there too :)

noodle 06-01-2008 10:35 AM

tofu and veggies in a coconut curry sauce with brown rice and two glasses of water at p.f. chang's. it was very yummy.

Bear Cub 06-01-2008 11:14 AM

General Tso's from the new Chinese place down the street. Leftovers from last night. Their fried dumplings and Tso's was much better than the place half a block to the right of it.

Baraka_Guru 06-01-2008 11:18 AM

A cup of oatmeal, two heaping tablespoons of soy protein isolate, a half teaspoon of cinnamon, two tablespoons ground flaxseed, two tablespoons of raisins, and a teaspoon of maple syrup.

A brat, chips and salsa, veggies and dip, and potato salad.

I love brats...

girldetective 06-02-2008 10:30 AM

In 17 minutes I will order/eat 2 cheeseburgers and a diet Dr Pepper from McDonalds' drive-thru. I order 2 because I dont eat the middle of the burger only the outside edge, so 2=1 in this case. Mmmm

Willravel 06-02-2008 10:40 AM

Steamed vegetables and rice.

I decided to just steam everything from the bottom shelf of my fridge this morning as I was in a hurry. I ended up with rice, peas, asparagus, celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and bell peppers. And some pepper for taste.

Paq 06-02-2008 10:41 AM

sounds good will, lunch for today: seasoned chicken sauteed with shrooms, red onion and roasted garlic, then stuffed in a pita with baby swiss and a side of couscous.

Willravel 06-02-2008 10:44 AM

Aww man I should have thrown in mushrooms! I know they're in the hydrator somewhere...

BTW, that sounds delicious, Paq.

Tully Mars 06-02-2008 10:49 AM

Chicken breast covered in marinara sauce, shrooms, onions, olives etc..

Chicken and shrimp in a basil pesto sauce with artichoke hearts, olives and spinach.
A side dish of squash

Poppinjay 06-02-2008 11:19 AM

I had a dish we call chicken tittie. Chicken breast with a slice of dried beef on top, marinated in flour water.

We've tried to come up with a better name but haven't.

turkey and roast beef with cheddar on wheat and a snapple

Giant Hamburger 06-05-2008 11:28 AM

I just returned from Estância Churrascaria, a Brazilian steak house.

My lunch consisted of:

PICANHA: our popular cut from the rump steak served with garlic.
ALCATRA: cut from the top sirloin.
FRALDINHA: cut from the bottom sirloin.
FILET MIGNON: cut from the tenderloin. Also served wrapped in bacon.
CORDEIRO: leg of lamb sliced off the bone. Also served as chops.
LINGUICA: pork sausage.
FRANGO: includes chicken breast wrapped in bacon and seasoned chicken legs

I finished the feast off with a cup of coffee, some flan and then a cigarette.

sapiens 06-05-2008 11:41 AM

A leftover hamburger from dinner two nights ago.

My father in-law directed the grilling. He bought 90/10 sirloin. He doesn't liked seasoning and he prefers thin patties. He also feels it's necessary to press the burgers with a spatula to remove as much of the juices as possible and cook the meat into oblivion. Unfortunately, the burger tasted like sawdust.

Willravel 06-05-2008 11:44 AM

Turkey on a kaiser roll.

Paq 06-05-2008 12:23 PM

today: chicken with onions and shrooms sauteed, then put in a tortilla and spread with a garlic/red pepper cream cheese i whipped up, and browned. served with a small bowl of potato soup

Bear Cub 06-05-2008 12:33 PM

Chicken and broccoli.

At least I had lunch. Sometimes I forget.

Baraka_Guru 06-14-2008 12:06 PM

Today, I had two sandwiches:
  • Twelve-grain bread
  • Dijon mustard
  • Fried tofu and Swiss chard
  • BBQ and hot sauce
  • Sliced tomato and avocado
They should tie me over a few hours until dinner.

Shauk 06-14-2008 12:51 PM

I'm heading down to Saigon Deli right now to find out.... then I'm gonna take a 4 or 5 mile "ubran hike" as I call it to guitar center and buy some patch cables, then i'll be back to report if I eat anything new :p

Fotzlid 06-14-2008 02:31 PM

Shauk 06-14-2008 04:10 PM

I grabbed a chicken... thing type sandwich from the Deli for 2 bucks, then walked for 2 hours straight and spent 25 bucks on 2 cords.

I think the sandwich was a better deal.

ÐiGiRed 06-14-2008 04:43 PM

I had a pork chop, and then some banana pudding.

lotsofmagnets 06-14-2008 04:56 PM
