Wow, we see it different here in the US. Go figure. You also have fcuk, but I don't even want to know what you think of that.
Can't you get KC off ebay? |

and I agree, I'd stay away from the burberry plaid, but other burberry goods, are not any different than any other upscale brand. |
Nah, fcuk is okay.

I like Kenneth Cole stuff... nice and clean. I also love the Hugo Boss clothes... I just can't stomach paying that much for clothing.
The few pieces I own have been paid for using flight insurance. Losing your luggage can have its upside. |
A few weeks ago, I bought these Ben Shermans for $30 (CDN) at Winners. :) I got them because they were such a good deal and I needed casual shoes.
|
was out at sportsmart today as they have buy 1 get the other half off. the lady friend got some nice hiking shoes. i picked out a nice white pair of adidas with black stripes.
makes me feel a bit wigger-ish but very classic and brings me back to my youth. |

Oddly, no. |
I can't believe no one's suggested it, so I guess I'll have to add it... Sketchers. They have a wide selection of nice looking casual shoes that are without laces, which makes them good "lazy" shoes. Unless I'm going to do something athletic I am usually wearing something like that.
<img src="http://www.skechers.com/images/productimages/medium/60737_FUD.jpg"> Sketchers. You'll probably spend less than $70, which is also a plus. |
I had a nice pair of Skechers that I completely wore out. Very comfy. I'm glad I bought a slightly small pair as they stretched out in a few days to the perfect fit.

Are lifts frowned upon for less tall men?

https://secure.internalmatters.com/S...rge/100010.jpg http://www.spotbilt.com/productDetail.aspx?ProductId=36 these are awsome. or...Whites lace up cowboy packers. http://www.whitesoutdoor.com/store/p...y=Boots&id=695 http://www.whitesoutdoor.com/assets/...boy_packer.jpg $500 worth of hand made american boots. they'll last you a lifetime. they'll rebuild them to as new for $150 or so but I got 10+ years in em before I got close to needing a rebuild. effin awsome boots creepers are just retarded. |

When would anyone ever wear a black shoe other than with a black suit, black shirt, or black sport jacket? Every other combination to me screams 'brown'
Edit: To add to the thread, I have a pair of Kenneth Cole slip ons in black and brown, two pairs of black sketchers and one pair of brown (all slip-on) , two pairs of black Reef's and one pair of brown leather, and I just bought a pair of blue Ahnu's. I like having shoe options  |
#1, 2 and 4 are out of date style. 3 might work, but they're not long enough. Notice how flat the shoes I linked are? How long they are? That's what men are generally wearing now.
I'm wearing these: http://www.kennethcole.com/img/prod/...6234BB_BLK.jpg They provide maybe 1" lift, I suppose. |
nice choice wil. they are just my style too!
|
I just recently discovered Bed|Stu which has some pretty awesome shoes for a somewhat reasonable price.
I like the Bobber: http://bedstu.com/uploads/cshop/BOBB...25fa2345b.jpeg And the Manchester: http://bedstu.com/uploads/cshop/manc...0a959fcf2.jpeg But mostly I just wear Sketchers. |
I had a pair of brown bed stus back in maybe 2003. They were perfect then, but they're a bit chunky in 2008. Men's shoes are a lot leaner now than they were.
If you're looking for something a bit more casual, these are decent: http://www.zappos.com/images/741/741...1-640967-p.jpg http://www.kennethcole.com/img/prod/...9505LE_BCC.jpg And of course, there's always Chuck Taylor's. |

Kenneth Cole stores usually have sales and discount racks.
How tall are you? Because anything over maybe 1.5" is too much whether you're tall or not. |
I'm 5'8". I don't know of any Kenneth Cole outlets here in the UK besides House of Fraser, and I don't think they carry KC shoes... at least they don't list them on the website, might have to check the actual store.
|
There's a Kenneth Cole on Sloan in Knightsbridge, London.

dang ! Tilted "what not to wear" goin on right here !
|
Specific suggestions are great, I saw a few I like and one I wanted to buy but forgot to (dang).. I've also had good luck with shoe shopping.
Decide on a store you like, or just pick one with a decent selection that you're ok with. Spend 15-20 minutes walking around and look at every pair of shoes they have. If nothing jumps out at you, wait a while and come back or try a different store if you need a new pair right away. Sooner or later something will jump off the display, and you will be very happy almost every time you wear them. I discovered this by chance, and it probably sounds weird, but I've received complements on every pair of shoes I've found this way. |
Just picked up a pair of Allen-Edmonds Delray in Chili...for an interview, and thought of this thread. I should photograph my shoe collection.
Until then, http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...KL._AA280_.jpg |

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5...lectionfx1.jpg (sorry for breaking your h-scroll, people without big monitors, mods, feel free to hotlink if it is excessive...my imac has made me lose all perspective) Back Right, from L to R: Steel toe work boots, oil resistant sneakers for garage use, running shoes. Middle row, Left to Right: Black Kenneth Cole Reactions and brown generic brand slip-ons--purchased to be Scottsdale 'clubbing' shoes (both in deserate need of shoe trees); Allen-Edmunds Delray (recently purchased); Brown, black, and more newer black Sketcher slip-ons; ahnu slip ons (omg comfy, and with mesh uppers--great for summer) Front left: Brown leather Reef's on top of some generic brown flipflops, new black fabric strap Reefs on top of old blue fabric strap Reefs (got drunk and wandered 15 miles in those once, can't bear to part with them); Five Fingers, and slippers. Yay! Not shown: Nike trail running shoes that I use for backpacking. They are in storage. |
