Casual Pre-Party Date Ideas?
I'm going out with this girl on saturday and I we're planning to go to the same party later that night. I want to do something casual with her before, but sort of date-like. Any ideas?

Coffee.
You can never go wrong with coffee. Either that or butt seks in the alley behind a K-Mart, either works. |
If the party is BYOB, go to a bookstore for coffee or whatever, and while you're there, buy a book of mixed drinks, read through it together, pick two you'd like to bring to the party, and buy the supplies neccessary. Yay comraderie!

Slick twistedmosaic, that's an excellent idea.
Pre-party informal dates for myself have consisted of everything from simply coffee, to a dinner at an informal restaurant, to hiking or snowboarding/skiing the day before. A few rounds of pool before going to a party is always fun. Sex before the party, and then again at the party, and then again after the party was always fun (damn, almost makes me miss the ex). |
If you're going straight from your casual outing to the party, make sure she knows that and that she should be dressed for the party before meeting up with you. Nothings worse then finding out you're both going to have to cut out time while she goes back to her place and gets ready. Also, depending on the type of party it is, make sure her/your party attire is not out of place in the casual atmosphere.
As for actual ideas, not including ones already mentioned...If you want to do something in your/her apartment, maybe try having a few pre-party drinks, play board games or cards (drinking games or non), and have TV shows on DVD or music that you both like as background noise. You could also bake cookies or something of the sort together (even the slice and bake kind are fun and are less hassle). Depending on the weather where you live, you could go walk around a park or a downtown area and window shop. Also, depending on the type of party it is, maybe try to find some party accessories (glow sticks, mardi gras beads, etc etc). Coffee shops with live music or poetry readings are also good. Anything fun and lighthearted without requiring too much effort will be a nice intro to an evening of sensory-overload partying. |
A game of miniature golf or bowling. Just as long as you don't get tired or sweaty (you can do that after the party)
