Haircut Woes
I went to get my haircut at this place across the street from my dorm because a friend had hers done there and it looked great. I was like, hot-damn, sounds good for me too. Well, not having lived in Lubbock, TX for too long I didn't know any decent places to get my haircut at, decided to give one a shot.
I have never had such a terrible haircut in my entire life. I would pay $45 to get my split-ends back, instead I have to wait for this mess to grow out and take it to my regular haircutter back at home. My god! I thought it looked alright when I left but when I examined it closely it looked like something edward scissorhands messed up on. One of my friends jokingly said the layers on the front:eek: looked like the beginning of a mullet. I'm so mortified. I'm intending on wearing a baseball hat/pony tail or pigtails for a good month or more until its long enough to deal with. Thanksgiving break is when my redemption will arrive. Until this I have to somehow live with my hair being this awful way. She cut it an inch above my shoulders when i asked for an inch below, and the front is completely messed up. Ugh! Any suggestions on how to deal with this situation? I'm already in college and that is plenty of stress, now this?! What do I do? I was debating about getting it recut by a professional to help fix the damage, but it would take longer to grow out? Any other ways to wear your hair besides in a hat or ponytail? |
Jeez, I always wondered how hair dressers could get away with charging such ridiculous amounts of money to cut hair.
My hair cuts cost $7. It's probably a lot easier, since i'm a guy, and my hair gets cut realtively short. But still, at more that price, what're you REALLY getting that's so much better than mine? BTW: my sister gets $12 haircuts. And if they "screw up" they have to fix it. As for solutions, you could always get it cut again by a different stylist. Or hats/headwear could work. |
Damn, that sucks. And $45? WOW. I'm glad I don't have to pay that for my haircuts.
I don't really have any suggestions for you, but I know how you feel. I frickin hate it when people do a bad job on my hair :| |
Lubbock, TX huh? There's a place over in Wolfforth called "Cuts 'n' curls" that I've been going to for a few years. Always gotten the haircut I want and alot cheaper than 45$.

ghoastgirl, you gotta go back and talk to the manager! Seriously. Get your money back, and/or get someone *else* to fix your hair.
From now on, go only to someone who comes recommended from a trusted friend who has gone to that stylist for several cuts. If necessary, walk up to someone with a great haircut and ask them where they go--generally folks are only flattered. Don't just go to a place, go to a *person*. Typically there are several people working at a salon, all with varying degrees of talent and ability. If you got something from a store at a premium price and it didn't work when you got home, you'd have no problem taking it back, right? Haircuts/services are the same. I'm really sorry this happened to you! |
Yeah, I'd seriously go back and complain. Especially if you feel it looks so bad that it's interfering with your normal day-to-day routine (ie- wanting to wear a hat because you're so embarassed.) I'd give the manager a healthy dose of my opnion if they seemed to not care too.
Sorry about your hair cut. At least it will eventually grow out and you can try again! |
