Male deodorant
Ive heard that the female and male hormones are different and you cant use deodorant made for the other sex. Is this true?
you see all of these commercials for female deodorants that dont leave marks on clothing. I cant seem to find a male deodorant that does this. I currently use clear gel w/ green lil balls, and that will leave marks on my shirts. Can someone reccemend me a good male deodorant that wont leave marks on my clothing? thanks! |
It is the anti-perspirant that undergoes a chemical reaction with sweat and leaves marks. Switch to a deodarant only (only ethylene glycol, gel, and fragrance in those) and you should be set. If you have a sweating problem, then you are out of luck if you want to control it and prevent the stains. Don't worry when you work out though, cuz you will need to sweat. The fragrance is there to cover up the scent of your body odor.

well, i have a similar thread to this about stains in my armpit area (which I want to eliminate) but this thread was more about when I put a shirt on, it sometimes leaves marks on my sides from where it rubbed. I dont always have time to wait for the deo. to dry then put the shirt on.

I use Ban original roll-on; it's completely scent-free and I don't get any marks on my shirts.

Do you mean the white chalky smear or the inevitable brownish tinge that can can develope over a long time?

Mitchum Max Invisible Solid is the product you should find. I used to have perspiration problems all the time. Then I discovered this stuff, and I'll never go back--no discoloration on my shirts, no sweat or smell issues EVER.
It comes in an array of manly scents too: Surge, Blast, Impact.... and The Other One. And you know what? Surge actually smells like a surge of something. Blast actually smells like a blast. Okay, so it probably has aluminum in it and will give me the Alzheimers. So what! At least I'll be a good-smelling old drooling dude. |
onodrim, I usually put my deodorant on right after I get out of the shower.
Im not wearing spandex, but not loose baggy clothes either. I guess I just never felt comfortable putting deo. on after my shirt. asways scared I would miss. :) MSD ill have to look for that. unscented sounds alot cooler than alzheimers! :D |

Marks? Or stains that last after washing?

Personally, I think there are riskier lifestyle choices than choosing to smell good. At any rate, rubbing the stained part of the shirt against a clean part of the shirt--fabric against fabric--will get rid of any deodorant/anti-perspirant stain in a flash. For repeated discoloration in the armpits--that's usually caused by sweat, and you can buy these things called pit guards you stick in your shirt. They absorb the sweat and prevent your shirts from staining from the sweat. |

I used to have to switch from anti-persitant spray to stick to roll-on every month or so. My armpits would start paining - apparently the glands in there got swollen after continuous use of a particular product, forcing me to switch up.
I now use Mitchum Clear Gel, and have been for the past year or so with no problems whatsover. No stains, no pain. And if you wave yer arms up an down a few times before donning your shirt, it's sure to be dry. :) |
Spouse uses Right Guard clear roll-on and since he switched to that, his colored t shirts no longer get that discoloration.
I use Mitchum clear gel and I don't get the stains/ marks with that either. As far as scents go for either one, I don't really notice a lingering scent(they're not that strong), regardless of which I have onhand and since I don't wear perfumes anyway, it wouldn't much matter in terms of interaction. |

I use unscented Tom's of Maine. www.tomsofmaine.com I put it on after I put my shirt on. But sometimes for strenuous workouts, I wear a tank top.

Okay, since you three swear by the Mitchum Clear Gel and Mitchum Max Invisible Solid I'll give them a try. That is, if I can find them in a store here or an online shop that will ship them abroad.
I take it that the first one is for men and the last is for women? http://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/26419/200.jpg http://www.zuckermanpharmacy.com/ima...big/496505.gif Quote:

Right Guard fresh gel right of the shower. I usually wet the top of it though so it does feel all clumped up under my arm.
