Best way to search for a job?
Hello all,
What is the best way to find a job and get good outcomes? What are the best job sites that bring employers looking for you? Anyone know? What was the best way you found a job? So far, i've tried monster.com, careerbuilder.com, and jobs.com and I haven't really recieved much calls or emails replying to my resumes. Also, is it better to email or call an employer? Thanks in advance for any help! |
employers are not going to come to you - -you have to go to them...
I would mail (not email/not fax) regular us mail a copy of your resume and a cover letter as to why that company should hire you to companies that interest you... There are a plethora of job hunting threads in this forum... that will have more advice.. but basically - treat looking for a job AS A JOB -- spend X amount of hours a day making phone calls.. finding out who the person you want to speak to about a position is... So you know who to send your mail to.. What kind of position are you looking for? |
some of these threads will get you started:

What is the most successful way, other than having connections, to look for a job? is it through the internet, newspaper, or any other kind of way?
If through the internet, what are the best sites? |
Good luck, shalafi.
Don't worry, many jobs don't require any degree. |
craigslist.com- your city.
works wonders for anything. That's where I found my job, car, apt., and babysitter and I've also sold things on it. It's totally free. |
Word of advice from my experience. We use the internet for all our job vacancies and we find it very successful, but nothing puts me off quicker, when I get someones resume and no cover letter. It shows me that they're doing a bulk email to many potential employers. Ensure you include a cover letter marked to the attention of the HR dept (find out who to attention it too) expressing why you would like the job and how you would be very interested to come in for an interview. This plus the usual experiences etc.
If there's a particular company you're keen on working for, check out their website as many companies advertise via this. Good Luck! |
