Architecture critique help
 

Hi all,

A close frined of mine is writing her thesis on the critique of architecture in our city. Anyhoo, I want to surprise her with a birthday gift that will somehow aid her in this.

I was thinking about getting a book about the methodological aspects of architecture critique, but, being a total doodlehead when it comes to that particular topic, I always end up with a dozen french books with very hard to read titles, out if which I haven;t a clue which one to pick.

Actually, I don't even have a clue if there is something like the methodology of architecture critique. I wonder if any TFP'er could at least attempt to point me in the right direction, or suggest some titles.
