Soooo many questions. What's your experience level, what tools do you own.... Are you looking to make furniture or are you looking to make picture frames? I've got a bunch of ideas, but I'm not sure what you're able to do...

Im pretty new to woodmaking, however my dad probably has a decent amount of tools. I would probably want to make furniture over the picture frames. thanks.

This will (hopefully) be my next woodworking project:

Here's a bunch of links to free woodworking plans. I'm sure you'll find something that you enjoy:

How about a very large wooden rabbit... and then Lancelot......

ohhh.. nevermind.

Build something you can use. That way you will have pride in the fact that it was something you built. I built a gate and steps to my deck last year. I'm still proud that they actually work, though my child now can open the gate without a problem so the original reason for putting the gate up in the first place has now gone out the window.

perhaps an Ark?

(you never know when an Ark will come in handy)

How about refinishing a piece of old wood furnature? Or building a chair, coffeetable, or ataman(sp) out of solid wood, giving it a light buffing sand, and then staining it a gorgous stain color?

Being a nerd, I've always liked building bookshelves. They're useful, they dont require too many complicated cuts, and any imperfections can be masked by good trim.

There are some games you can make out of wood. Something like a chess or checkers set, or do a search for "crokinole". It's a fun dexterity game similar to carroms or a bit like billiards for which you can find plans for. I helped make one and it wasn't too hard. I'd buy the discs though instead of making them.
