Garage shelving - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Does anyone know where I can get some general plans for making some really basic garage storage shelving? I've checked around some of the major sites like diynet.com and the better homes and gardens sites but they don't have what I'm looking for. Just something that give suggestions on what to do to make sure the shelves are installed properly and are strong. Thanks!

Turn on PBS to everybody's favorite Master Carpenter, Norm Abrams. :P
You try the New Yankee Workshop? I'm pretty sure they would
have stuff, definately practical ideas. Or just goto your local
Home Depot or Lowe's and just ask a guy who knows what he is doing.

We have metal shelving in the garage. Dad got them used from a store closeing.
Try your local library for books on makeing your oun.

Forget Lowes or Home Despot. The employees barely know where to find items let alone how to use them.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll look into them. Funny commentary on the Home Depot employees though. The only ones I'll stick up for though are the guys in the plumbing dept. near where I used to live, they knew their shit. No one else in the store knew their asses from a hole in the ground but the plumbing guys knew what was going on.
