Paper topic suggestions- School work
 

I'm currently in a 'History of 20th Century Warfare' course (as a complementary elective). I have a term paper due Monday the 29th. I've really been meaning to get it done.

We had to pick a subject and have that registered with the prof a month ago. I picked Nicaragua for the list. Other then that, I have no real limitations on the topic. I knew almost nothing about the history of Nicaragua, so I started with reading a few general histories and I've selected and skimmed a few slightly more partisan sources as well (pro-usa/conta, pro-sandinista, etc).

Now that I have to buckle down and write the bloody paper, I'm having a hard time picking my topic and fomulating my thesis. I'm an Eng student and I have little appropriate experience.

So suggest a topic or issue to address please. I've played with a contrast of the Sandinista and the Contra guerilla techniques. Or something along the lines of "Marxist failure or US interference?". I'm trying not to let everything come down to an issue of Cold War foreign policy. I'm very open to other suggestions and I think I have enough of a knowledge base now to make it work, with a push in the right direction.
