How to add music to a PowerPoint presentation?

...the title says it all. Anyone know how to do this?

Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File > search. (try changing file type to all files)

Hope that helps, but its powerpoint 97 that i have

you don't want to overdo the music and sounds in a presentation. ditto that for the animation...

you can record voice files into it too if you like. Just have your mic ready then...
Insert > Movies and Sounds > Record Sound > then start recording
