Smelly Shoes
No, this is not a foot odour problem. Well, it is, but not the foot odour you're thinking about.....
I recently bought a new pair of leather dress shoes. Being leather, they smell like leather, and after a days wear, so do my socks, and the bottom part of my pants. They are about a month old now, and still have a very strong new leather smell. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this odour? |
Aside from stepping in something that doesn't smell like leather... ahhh, shoe polish, that could do it.

leave them outside in the wind? there's not a great deal you can do i don't think.

I have found cat litter to be very effective in eliminating odors of all sorts.
For shoes, I put a scoop of it in an old sock, tie the open end shut, and stick the sock/catlitter sachet right in the shoes. Works like a charm. -bear |
Thanks j8ear. That may sound like the solution I was after.

How about something carbon based? Clean charcoal in a paper towel? By the way, I like the leather smell. Is it really that bad? Must be different than what I'm thinking about.

Instead of cat litter, like if you don't own a cat, use baking soda.

baby powder, light and kills the smell
