Self storage w/o AC...what can you store?

We're moving soon and don't want to take everything we have with us, since we'll have to move again about a year after, possibly back to Texas from some other state. Anyways, my in-laws have offered to store some of our stuff in boxes in their self-storage space. However, the space is not air conditioned. My mother-in-law said that, for example, china should not be stored in a non-air conditioned storage because it can get ruined. I thought china was, ya know, porcelain, or someshit, and it seems weird to me how humidity or heat would mess it up.

My question is, what can and cannot safely stored in a non-air conditioned storage?

How hot does it get in the storage unit? China can withstand a lot but sometimes glass and china can crack if there is a huge temperature fluctuation.

I guess it depends mostly on the average humidity in the state where the storage unit is located. There's a significant difference between an un-air conditioned storage unit in, say, south Louisiana, compared to one in western Texas.

I'm no expert, but I'd think china would be fine.

Chocolate and dead hookers, not so much.

Well it depends. If it's china that is very thick it should be fine. If it's fine china like Limoges, Noritake, or something that is very brittle then I would be a bit more wary.
