Guidance Counselor
Hey guys. I am trying to locate a guidance counselor in regards to my education and I couldn't for the love of me find one over the net. I'm thinking of going to either one of the local high schools and explain to them I would only like a one time Q&A Session to simply point me in the right direction. Stuff like career paths, (I'm considering 2 at this time) what to take, what not to take, what's relevant and whats not. What grades are required, etc....
Is there a site I can get this info off of or a site with a phone number listing, or was my original idea of going to a local high school stellar?? |
/bump.......... guys, no suggestions???? I already know that I can get this info from any guidance counselor of a school that I would like to attend but sugestions are made for discussion people!!

Um, most high school guidance counselors are not in touch enough to do more than help you find a school.
You would be better off making your own decisions, talking to a career counselor, or perhaps someone at your local community college. |
Go to the local community college and ask to speak to a counselor there. Community colleges often offer other services besides classes as part of their community education mission.

X2 on career services at a local university. They're more apt to speak with you anyways, because of the potential for you to take classes there. High school counselors, not so much with people walking in off the street.

Yeah, I'm confused - if you are in high school, or recently graduated, talk to your HS guidance counselor. If you have a GED or have been out of HS awhile, then onesnowyowl's suggestion is probably best.
