finishing a bar top

I'm in the process of refinishing an old door as a bar top. For the inside panels, I'm looking to fill them with old memory(ticket stubs bottle caps etc.) then fill with a resin of some sort to bring it all up to one level = so the final surface is flush and level. Any comments ot suggestions??
