To lighten the mood:

Please do not read or comment if you are easily offended. This comic is just that a comic and meant to bring humor to some.

The reason I post it here and not in "humor" is I thought Politics maybe in need of some humor itself.

I think maybe with Mods approval and maturity from the posters (as I know you all can be mature) we could start posting Editorial cartoons and whatnots...... so that we can have a thread where we can just come to not be partisan, not fight, just laugh and nod our heads or shake them and say "how true" or "what crap, but funny".

edit: I can't post attachments and thus put in the cartoon so the link below will have to do until someone can put in the cartoon.

Oops . . . cartoons are discouraged in Politics.

The humor in the comic (at least for me) is that it takes a couple grains of truth and inflates them to absurdity. The two grains of truth (IMO) are: (1) many of the actions of the Administration are logically indefensible and have harmed this country; and (2) many folks don't really think too much about politics, and do blindly support their party.

And it's worth pointing out that many people have gotten fed up and left the Republican party.

I think it’s a good rule. Political cartoons are mostly exaggerations, which often have no basis of truth in them, or such a distorted version of the truth that it becomes meaningless. People who agree with that side think 'funny' and people opposed think 'bullshit'.

As such I don't see much value to it as it will not lighten the mood but only polarize.

Hardknock 09-22-2005 08:26 AM

Leave it to Ustwo to put a downer on things.

I found it funny, but I agree with Ustwo. If it were a Mallard Fillmore cartoon, I'd consider it bullshit.

Move the thread.

Moved.
For obvious reasons

I'm a conservative and I even found it funny. There are a few political cartoons that I just say No to, but this is fairly humorous. I like Cheney's hair.

At least I tried to lighten up the politics thread, I even forewarned those that it may offend.

Just felt that a little humor is needed in that forum and editorial cartoon's purpose are to make political statements that make one think.

You may or may not agree with say Doonesbury/ This Modern World on the left or Wizard of Id/ Boondocks/ B.C. on the right but they do have value in politics and at times can be quite funny.

But there are rules and I do appologize for offending anyone by putting this in the Political Forum....

funny stuff... even though i may not agree with the message

Hehe...Cheney with the perpetual scowl. He's always so pissed!

As you know, I disagree with your viewpoint, but I applaud your attempt to lighten up politics.

Here's one that isn't full-on political, but I got a chuckle from it.
