Digging up the garden
 

I got a couple today...

An old Arab man has lived in New York City for the past 40 years and this will be the first time he's been without his little garden out behind the house. Age had finally caught up to the old man and to hoe little patch of land behind his house would probably kill him. He sends an e-mail to his son who is working in Paris asking for help.

'Beloved Son, It seems this year I will not be able to plant my blessed garden. I have gotten too old to do for myself, but I know, if you were here, that you'd gladly help me dig out my little garden.
Love,
Your father'

The next day the father gets an e-mail of his own.

"Blessed father, Under no circumstances are you to dig up the garden. I have hidden the 'THING' there and Allah willing, it will stay there for a great long while.
Your beloved son,
Ahmed.'

Early the next day the old man was awakened by a deafening pound on his door. Shortly after, the FBI, the CIA, members of a special section of Homeland Security, a number of men from the U.S. Army and a few of New York's finest turned his house upside down. They dug through everything, pulled out every piece of furniture and searched in the back of every cabinet. Outside they ran metal detectors over every square inch of the old man's land. They searched up in the trees, flipped over every piece of lawn furniture and dug up every bit of the fallow garden out back.

Dismayed that they couldn't find anything, they all leave disappointed.

A day later, the old man receives a second e-mail from his son.

"Blessed father, I hope by now that the garden has been dug up and you can plant your potatoes. It was the best I could from so far away.

Me too, but this version is better.

Meh...I kinda like the version where a man's son was in prison for hiding away the money...
