Shopping Trip

A woman shopping at her local supermarket selected a quart of milk, a carton of eggs, a quart of orange juice, a head of Romaine lettuce, a jar of coffee, and a 1 lb. package of bacon.

As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out , a shabby drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier.

The drunk said: "You must be single."

The woman, a bit startled but intrigued by his intuition, looked at her six items on the belt. Seeing nothing particularly unusual about her selections, she responded: "Well as a matter of fact, you're absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?

The drunk replied: "Cause you're ugly.

This is the way I heard it:

A woman walks into a supermarket and buys:

1 bar of soap
1 toothbrush
1 tube of toothpaste
1 loaf of bread
1 pint of milk
1 single serving of cereal
1 single serving frozen dinner
1 can of Soup For One
1 16 oz. can of Miller Lite

The checkout guy looks at her and says,"Single, eh?"

She smiles sweetly and responds, "Yes, how did you guess?"

He replies, "Because you're fuckin' ugly."


I think it was meant for the items to show that she is single, and then the person would state how ugly she is, although i think it fits a drunk better to say it than the cashier.

Nevertheless, a good joke.
