This is in my own words; sorry I don’t know where the original is. Hope you enjoy it.

A man walks into a bar and sits down on the bar stool, the bartender walks up to him and asks “what would you like to drink” “I’d like 3 shots of Tequila” the man replies, the bartender pours him 3 shots, and sets them on the table in front of him, the man downs all 3 of them one right after another, a little surprised the bar tender asks “did you have a bad day?” “Well… kind of…” the man said “you see two of my best friends just moved clear across the US and now we don’t get to see each other anymore” “Oh that’s too bad” said the bartender “Yah” said the man “So I figured if I ordered 3 shots, one for each of us, it would feel like we were all still here drinking together.” The next day the man came back and ordered 3 shots again downed all of them and left, he came back the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that. This went on for a year. Every day the man would come in order 3 shots down all 3 of them get up and leave. Then one day the man came in sat down at the bar and told the bartender “I’d like 2 shots of Tequila” a little worried the bar tender poured him the two shots, and as he was handing the man the drinks he gave him a worried look and asked “I hate to be nosey but did something happen to one of your friends?” “Oh no” the man said. “They’re both fine; I just decided to stop drinking.”
