favorite parody song (humor)
Know any funny parody tunes with "alternative" lyrics?
In my band days two of my favorite parody songs to play were: "Green Acres" (60's TV show) sung to "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix. "Stairway to Freebird" The ultimate rock anthem. |

For great parodies, Weird Al just can't be beat. His first album was brilliant-- "Another One Rides the Bus" and "My Balogna" are still two of my favorites.
"Livin in the Fridge" was allready mentioned, but worth repeating. ![]() As for non-Weird Al parodies.... hmm. "Pretty Fly for a Jedi" is pretty entertaining.

Cletus Judd and Wierd Al are great. But kudos to whom ever did 'What if god smoked cannibus' a parody of 'What if god was on of us' by Joan Osbourne. Very Funny.

If you like pop culture in your parodies, check out the great Luke Ski (yes, that's the name he goes by). His pitch isn't great, but his ability to mimic characters from shows is amazing, and his lyrics are very clever. Shani, you have to hear "You Don't Know Jack", about Jack Sparrow.
Also, get your comedy podcasts! Not all parodies, but lots of good stuff, much better than Dr. Demento used to be if you could actually find a radio station that covered him. The Mad Music Hour (two hours a week, usually radio-safe). Manic Mondays (about 20 minutes a week, more edgy and profane). Quote:
