I call real. This is an incredible photoshop if it is one! There are no joins or sludges anywhere to be seen. Take a look at the angles the escalators make with the ground, the stairs and the builing. Take a look at the shadows and reflections! This is almost certainly real!

I heard it was real in San Diego.
The photoshop is pretty flawless, although some claim that they notice photoshop in shadows.
Dunno, from the angles of the escalators, the sunlight effect, the shadows, and hell, even the reflection of the red poster in the escalator.
But yea, open air escalators.. I've seen some but they have roofs on them, foot on each side. But they could whip up waterproof escalators, I wouldn't be surprised.

I've seen outdoor escalators before. They're probably waterproofed, though
