Shadow of the Collosus
My kids just got Shadow of the Collosus for PS2 over the Christmas holidays. This game is extremely addictive, and is easy to watch as well as fun to play. Has anybody tried this? If it is this good on PS2, I can only imagine it on PS3.

I've played the game and I love it, I even have the soundtrack. If you liked this game you might want to try ICO. It's made by the same people, you should be able to find it cheap as it never got a huge following and it's a fairly older PS2 game.

It may be hard to go back to playing Ico after playing this game but they are both excellent games. It was satisfying yet sad when you took down one of those giants. What did they ever do wrong :(
|
Are there any secrets to discover? or is it all about taking out the giants?

There are few secrets and the game is pretty linear. It does have a huge world to explore, but there is little more than scenery. There is something amazing about this game. I don't know how to explain it, but it is just one of the most unique games I have played in a long time. I loved it.

I loved this game but I agree with Xiangsu, it's very linear. It's basically, kill these Collususes (Collosi??) but despite that, it is one of my favorite games in recent history.

i found that if you kill lizards, and pick them up, or eat the fruit off of the trees, you can increase the amount of stamina ( the pink circle) that you have for holding onto things...
|
is it all fruit? I'm sure I recall someone mentioning on a forum that one fruit tree resets your stamina.

I have a demo I got of this in the mail right before the holidays, and sadly, never played it. I really wanted to check it out though might be time to get on it.

yes, all fruit (so far). I have found out that if you use a cheat to get into the secret garden, and eat the fruit there, you can lose all atained stamina. |
SotC is a fantastic game. It, much like ICO, delivers such a wonderfully whimsical, unsettling atmosphere all throughout and packs a punch at the very end. All in all, though, I think SotC did better with gameplay. It was an experience, taking down a colossi.
Also, as I had it, fruit increases life; tails increase stamina. Could be wrong on that, though-- it's been a while since I've played it. |
