For the PS3, yes. For a remake of an ancient game played to death, not so much

Since when was it a remake? The FF7 creator stated that the PS3 demo movie is just that -- a demo movie, not actual gameplay or actual cinema. Did they change their mind? Last I read, an FF7 remake was completely out of the question.

I think I'd play it again if it looked prettier. I've played through to the end so many times though. They'd have to do something different to really hook me. And by changing it, they'd piss off the FF7 "fanboys".

I'd definitely buy a remake, but I don't think it's happening. Ever.

A rerelease is more likely. Maybe some new packaging. A new dungeon. Like the GBA FF's.
But whoever said it before is right. It would cost too much money. It would serve a niche of players who still enjoy it, and wouldn't be likely to bring new fans in. For many of those who bought FF7, how many still play video games, how many are buying the PS3, how many will have it when this remake would be released, how many are opposed to playing through a story they already know. And how many people won't play it just because of the idiots who rave about it...

Sony would cash in if they remade it. FF7 is hugely popular there is a huge demand for the remake. But yeah i guess it's just a technical demo for now, but who k nows about the future. i'm just excited about the system, it should be awesome. go watch the metal gear solid 4 demo at gamespot, unbelievable

I think I would buy a next-gen remake of FF6 way (waywaywaywayway) faster than a remake of FF7... FF7 was a bit overrated in my opinion. It was a great game, but it was overhyped due to it being the first widely popular FF game because of it's accessibility on the PSX and the abundance of pretty video cutscenes.
But yeah, I heard that video was merely a tech demo and not a remake of FF7. I could have heard wrong, though. |
