Madden '06 - This game is either ridiculously hard or ridiculously easy, there seems to be no middle ground for the mediocre like me.
Superstar mode is pretty good. The franchise mode is filled with a ridiculous amount of options. As far as gameplay, it's pretty average with two exceptions: 1- the running game is splotchy. There's no consistency. 2- the quarterback 'vision' thing, which is both a blessing and a curse. To be honest, I wasn't going to buy this game, but since it's the only game in town...well, it doesn't matter what I think, if you want to play football, you have to buy this game. 6/10 |
Doom 3 - John Carmack leads the way once again... The best lighting we've seen so far, and will be the best until Unreal engine 3.0 rolls into action. The singleplayer gameplay's a bit stiff, but a good play though. Especially if you're an id software fan.
Motorcross Madness 2 - yeah, super old... found it in the bargain bin, had to get it. This is a great game, and the stunt levels never get old. Need for Speed Underground 2 - I was a huge fan of the first 5 games, and I decided to give the latest one a shot. Ultimately, I'm not interested in it. I want to race through beautiful countrysides like the old games, not the same night time city streets over and over again. Pretty game though. Guilty Gear XX - Oh man does this game look good. Best looking 2d fighter out there (still one of 2 i know of that are in high res). Gameplay was slowed down from Guilty Gear X, which is a good thing. This seems to be a good game for tournament play, though I'm not good enough for such things. Tony Hawk 4 - Yeah, screw underground, this is where the real culmination of the series is. This game is really for Tony x vets, and it shows. The last levels are extremely difficult even for a seasoned player like me. Super fun. |

Ninja Gaiden - I picked it up for $15 at a local trade shop. I did it mostly because I was bored and needed something to dick around with until the new spiderman game came out.
This game is ridiculously fucking hard. Even on normal, which I assume must be somewhat easier than 'hard', this game is fucking impossible. And while I'm on the subject, what's the deal with two difficulty selections? Normal and Hard? Where's the choice for "weak-ass" or "just looking to kill some time while my pizza rolls cook?" There is a very fine line between accomplishment and irritation. I can kill ninjas. I can kill bats. I figure out the 'puzzles,' if you even want to call them that. The white ninja guys gave me a lot of trouble at first, but now I do alright. After three days of playing this game in 20 minute spurts (because it makes guthmund sad), I can't even get past the fucking white haired guy with the nunchucks. My previous strategy of whipping ass, which, to be honest, solely consisted of me jumping around like a retard on ritalin while occassionally hitting the X, B, or Y buttons, doesn't seem to work with this guy. I've read the walk-throughs, I've listened to the strategy, but I just can't get it to work. Could've been a fun game. I guess I'm just not cut out to be a ninja. I guess I'm the anti-ninja. And being the anti-ninja is no fun at all. I'll probably still dick around with it from time to time if I ever feel the need to induce stress, but until then the thing sits in my living room in the bin of the 'soon to be traded.' Fucking ninjas 3/10 Edit:Either by dumb luck or...well, it was dumb luck, I've managed to make it to the fourth level. It's still ridiculously hard, but at least, I'm getting some sense of satisfaction from playing the game even it it comes at the expense of blind faith and dumb luck. Sure is a pretty game though.... |
Man, weak sauce. I wouldn't have thought gold sellers would permeate even the TFP.
Edit: The spammer's post has been deleted. Hi! |
Thanks for going hi-jacking the thread, especially one that's been dead for a few months now.
Now back on topic: Age of Empires III Not bad, but it's like playing AOE2: Age of King except, there's a hell lot less items to build and all of the civilization is way too similar, the developers could've have at least taken the time to create diverse empires instead of making them different through different skins. 6/10 Civilization IV Excellent, it's like a patch update for Civ 3 but it's becoming a eye candy. Although, it's harder to actually reach the stage in your civilization where you can actually build a rocket to win the game or even get diplomacy. 9/10 |
(note: the above two posts make reference to a spammer whose post was deleted, lest you think they were talking about an active member in this thread.)

I got Jade Empire for Xmas and it hasn't even seen the inside of my Xbox yet since I can't stop playing NCAA Football '06 (also received for Xmas)
|
I've recently gone on a game buying spree...
NBA Live 06 for PSP - Haven't played it too much yet as I just got it today, but so far I'm having a good time with it. The Warriors for PS2 - Just flat out fantastic! This game has taken over my night life lately! Blitz: The League for XBOX - Fun game, nothing great but has lots of replay value. Red Dead Revolver for XBOX - Haven't played it too much either. Gave it about an hour and a half the first night I bought it and haven't thought to play it again. Seems relatively fun though. GUN for XBOX - I really like this game, but evidently it's very, very short. I've yet to get very far in it because of The Warriors, but it's pretty fun as well. |
god of war wow! 10/10! i'll write more once i beat it. if you like mythology, blood, violence, RPGs, action, killing monsters, awesome storyline, awesome controls, etc... i could go on forever. this game is a must own for ps2 owners.
|
God of War was fun, but once the ride's over (too quickly, but not by much) there's almost no incentive to come back, except for a too-hard arcadey mission thingawhatsit. It has boobs, though.

Even better than the film*. (*o.k., so that's not much of an accolade but, still, it was a hoot). |
Extreme G3 (GC release)
Great game, there are some bits in there (like passing through the sound barrier for instance, and not hearing the sounds of your guns firing until you slow down) that made me go wow, there are also bits in there that have made me break my new controller in frustration. The game is so tempremental in where it wants you to win. Sometimes i'll go flying through, be in first place by the second lap and win with unbelievable ease, and the next minute, on an easier map, i'll end up 10th for no good reason. That and mines, i HATE the mines on this game, i hate them i hate them i hate them. It gets a 7/10*. Extreme G2 was the best game in the series, but maybe i still have to unlock some schnizzle on this one. |
The only games I picked up lately were
DOW:Winter Assault 5/10. Solid game, I guess, but they really didn't add ANY content for 30 bucks. The main game was even worse about content, but at least they put the engine in place, this just added a boring race and some maps, and I could download those sorts of things third party for free. Skies of Arcadia Legends: 8/10. I loved playing the original on the 'cast but it's not worth pulling it out of the box anymore and plus it's starting to act up, so I shelled out the 20 bucks to see what the new content was like. My only complaint is they didn't find a very good way of dealing with the content that was centered on the VMU (namely the Pinta quest and Cupil's appearance when you're near a cham) but the wanted battles are sort of cool and the moonfish stuff is all right, albeit more of the same style as chams and discoveries. Still a great RPG, and it stands up pretty damn well. |
Quote:
Use the EMP. When you pass someone, zap 'em like a bitch until you're well clear. That stops those bloody mines, and it's easy on the ammo, too. I like to combine it with the railgun and nothing else. Once you hit the biggest engines, though, it's even more insane. Whee! |
Quote:
Ahhh! I suppose that makes sense, i havn't been bothering with the EMP, but i agree, the rail gun is nuts, got a race down to 6 riders once :D |
Intensive list here, and my shelf just keeps getting more and more crowded.
Spent about 60 or so hours on Ninja Gaiden Black. Then I went back to unlock all three original Ninja Gaiden discs, and both costumes. Still have to do all of the mission modes in black, and looking forward to it. Just finished DOOM3 and working on Half Life 2. Backtracking to Gladius when I have a moment, and 25 to Life, Gun, Spider Man Ultimate, and Jade Empire are on the list. Devil May Cry 1 Devil May Cry 3 DOOM3 Resurrection of Evil PSP: Lumines Great Wipeout Pure good X-men Legends II great Twisted Metal Head-On good Dynasty Warriors great Burnout Legends great LoTR Tactics suck |
The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2
I picked this up last week and it is all I have been playing since. Similar enough to C&C: Generals to jump right in and yet different enough to stand on its own. I'm hoping to get my friends playing this so it can be the star of our next LAN. This is the RTS that I have been aching to play the last few months. I see this as being my RTS of choice until Supreme Commander arrives. Last night I watched The Return of the King after playing and I must say that the game captures the movies brilliantly. Definitely worth looking into for anyone who likes the genre. |
Tourist Trophy - PS2
Fun game, but it's just Gran Turismo on motorcycles, not that that's so terrible. Tough... but moderately fun. |
I'm playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted. It's storyline is cheesy, but the game itself is fun so far. Great arcade-style physics and a lot of depth to the races. So far it's pretty easy, but that's probably because I already know the physics fairly well (I played NFS Hot Pursuit into the ground). I don't know if it gets harder, but so far the police chases are simple and easy to escape (but satisfying.. because you get points for fucking them up). Anyways, so far, it's great.
|
i just picked up Battlefield 2 about two weeks ago.
its been out for quite a while now so i'm kinda late but its a pretty solid game if you like online gaming. |
trying tof inish icewind dale2 and playing gran turismo 1 on and off
|
i have been devout halo2 online to the exclusion of dabbling with project gotham3 and call of duty for 360 when the 360 came out. since then, recently picked up tom clancy ghost recon advanced warfighter, and it is amazing!!!!!
you need to have patience for this game. even after saves, one sniper bullet ends your life and if you dont move fast enough to cover, it can take you forever to figure out how to get to the next save. it is an awesome game though. i imagine on pc as well. still do halo multiplayer |
Just bought:
Galactic Civilizations II reason: - had to suport the no starforce (DRM) movement. - i also like 4x games and replaying - Guildwars not sure if i even have anything else installed at the moment.. |
Well....I just bought FFXI for the xbox 360 and I havent really played it much I guess its just not really the same as playing it a while back on PC, that and no one I know plays it so a waste of my money.
I will say I did purchase Oblivion and I cant stop playing it, everything just looks soo nice to me that and its like a never ending quest =P Ah and Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter is just incredible |
Been playing Half-Life 2: Episode 1 for the last two days. More of the same...which is not a bad thing for Half-Life 2. It seems as though they are really trying to develop the narrative, and it's got a really cool structure to it. It's as if they said to themselves "let's do everything backwards in this episode...give the weapons in reverse order of most powerful...start the player off with the epic finishing puzzle...etc."
Really creative and it seems to be working. I'm probably about halfway through and no sign of new enemies (except the Zombine....big deal) or weapons. One of those would be nice. My rating: 8/10 Also wondering why the case has room for more discs. Is this the standard packaging now? You could spool at least five more discs onto it. |
I just bought MLB 06 for PSP. It's pretty cool so far. I've created a player and I'm working through spring training at the moment....
|
After playing through HL2 again in preparation for Episode 1 (which I have downloaded but yet to buy), I've gone back to playing Dawn of War: Winter Assault and Republic Commando.
DoW:WA is really growing on me as I play the Imperial Guards more and more. Of course, reading the books from the Black Library is helping fuel my appetite for this game. I'm anxiously awaiting the next expansion. Seven playable races? Yes please. What can I say about RC? The only thing lacking in this game is the failure of LucasArts to release the SDK. Sigh. I could really have used a multiplayer campaign mod for this excellent game. |
my most recently bought game would be The New Super Mario Bros. it's a very good game, but a little easy.
|
Quote:
That's usually the sign of them running out of ideas at the beginning of the development cycle ;) |
I picked up Oblivion for the 360 a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to put it down. The only problem I have with it (aside from the 'loading' glitches) is that there really is no incentive to turn up the difficulty. It seems I get the same stuff no matter how high the setting is.
Still...pretty damn good game. Highly recommended. I've also been playing Condemned, which is pretty good as well. It's dark and gritty, you collect clues, beat people with fire axes and crowbars....it's got a little bit of everything. The presentation is spectacular. My only gripe are the controls. There's limited customization and that's just a crying shame. |
RISK
I have played the game "Risk" but lost the dowload somewhere ...
Does anyone have any idea where to find another download? I've tried buying the damn thing to no avail ... Currently playing "runescape" ... helping the kids to advance through the levels, is all ... "i swear" ! lol ... i know its a game for younger kids, but its friggin adictive once you get started ... thats th ereason i want "risk" back |
Just bought the DS Lite Sunday along with Tetris DS and Metroid Prime:Hunters. Tetris is addicting as always and Metroid is great, once you can get the controls down.
Don't want to threadjack, but what are some other great games for the DS? |
New Super Mario Bros is quite cool. Advance Wars will easily consume a lot of your time, as well. Mario Kart doesn't do a thing wrong, and if you're a Tetris fan Meteos might take your fancy. Don't pay full price for Meteos, though :)
|
I havent bought any new games in awhile but the most recent i got is
half life 2 doom 3 and getting up(which sucks but passes the time) thats about it...games and game systems are way to f*cking expensive now adays i cant afford that sh*t =( Makes me sad cuz i love gaming |
Just got Tales of Symphonia for the GC. I won't get to play it until next week, cuz I'm away (AGAIN !&*#) , but the price was right at 17 dollars(new).

or not, whatever... I've been on vacation from TFP. I miss y'all. So since school let off and tuition got paid, This is what I've been playing. Trauma Center- Buy this. Don't have a DS? Lite's out. Now is the time to buy. 10/10. Metroid Prime Hunters Single player sucks, but I've forgotten about it. I just play multicard deathmatch with all bots. It's a riot. based on that, I say 8/10, losing points for only supporting 3 bots or extra players, and not giving me freedom to make them harder. Like, I can't play 4 player teams, 3 on me. It's like portable UT, and if you'd told me this was gonna be available on a handheld back when I was in highschool playing UT like a junkie, I'da shanked you in the face and stole your fancy time machine. New Super Mario Bros. Awesome game, great art design, captures the feeling of the first SMB game on the NES. Too many lives though, and I can't seem to get into 2 of the worlds. Crazy hard to get into... 85/100 Star Fox Assault I loved the first 2 Star Fox games, and steered clear of Adventures. I thought Assault went back to the old formula. There's some ship combat, but it's mostly a tame 3rd person shooter with a terrible camera. 3/10 for shattering my dreams, and being shitty at 2 genres at the same time. 2 weeks ago I got my XBox 360. I didn't get an XBox because I didn't feel it had enough games I would want (also, it was damn ugly, and the controller was too weird for me, I mean cardboard discs? Black and White buttons?). And there are really only a handful. I had a PS2 and GameCube, and quite a large library for each. One game I missed out on and really wanted for the Xbox was Ninja Gaiden. My friends raved about it when it came out, but I never got a chance to try it, so, as it was on the B/C list, I picked it up. Had I known it was just a super difficult version of Devil May Cry (the menus are even similar), I'd have saved my money. I can't review this fairly because I'm only in level 2. Call Of Duty 2- My first 360 game. Pretty. Could be prettier. Multiplayer sucks. I can't take a friend online with me, the maps are too large for 2-4 player, and there're no bots to compensate for that. Multiplayer feels tacked on. 8/10 Halo 2- Bought out of peer pressure. I'd gotten pretty far in single player before, so I tried that out again. The story is so weak, and at times, so cheesy, it was almost unbearable. Multiplayer in this game is fantastic though. I'll say Single Player Halo 2 - 5/10, Multiplayer Halo 2 - 9/10. That sounds fair. ES4 Oblivion- Never played a game like this in my life. Used to the Japanese console RPG or the point and click Diablo/Guild Wars RPG. Totally blown away by this game, in terms of gameplay, story, evoked emotion, fun, and freedom. 96/100, reviewed post alottabugfixes. If I'd gotten it earlier, and suffered the bugs, the review would be much lower. Crimson Skies- Super fun arcade style flight sim. Gift of a friend who had 3 copies from Live kits. Free makes it even better. I say 8/10 from what I've seen so far in Multiplayer, but it loses 2 points for not having a cockpit view option. |
Just finished Forgotten Realms - Demon Stone for Xbox. Decent.
Also completed Max Payne 2 on PS2. Never going to touch this game again. It felt like death on rails. I saw the loading screen more than I saw gun fighting action. Must have been better on PC. Lots of time on Lumines on PSP, just shy of a million points. Less time on Metal Gear Ac!d 2. But I suck/have no clue what i'm doing. |

whats this game like, i really have no idea and am considering buying something most recent purchase was rise of nations. excellent RTS game. Takes everything i liked about Age of Empires 3, except it's done better, and it was done first. Great game. |
Picked up a DS Lite last night. Seemed like it was time.
I also picked up New Super Mario Bros. and have been sorely disappointed by it. The levels are short and rather boring; I think the game's been made too easy and getting rid of flying has been a let down for me. Overall this game's not good enough that I'd recommend buying it unless you're buying it for a child who doesn't have previous knowledge of Super Mario Brothers. The original on SNES/GBA kicked ass, but this game doesn't even s tand close to its older brother. |
Quote:
oh and right now I am playing many games. Of course WoW, replaying Final Fantasy IV and VI on my SNES (it looks kinda crazy on a nice TV), and Ris of Legends which is pretty cool. |
I'm playing G.R.A.W. on my PC.
Recently I saw the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie on DVD so I dusted off my PS and replayed FF VII... then I bought copies of FF VIII and FF IX to play .... ... believe it or not my 360 games (Burnout 3, Fight Night, DOA 4 and Rumble Roses ;)) are on the shelf for now so I can play these PS One games. |
Recently picked up Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the 360 and I love it. Haven't been playing it much though as it's the only game for my 360 (aside from Halo 2.) I did rent Tomb Raider: Legend which I'm currently playing right now and I must say that the game is very solid although the camera can be a bit frustrating at times. Also, Geometry Wars: Evolved for Xbox Live Arcade is the shit, lol.
|
I gave "Black" a whirl, and it is fantastic. A bit short, but a pretty solid FPS.
The attention to detail is excellent, although the first time you put it in you are forced to watch like a 5 minute intro with credits, and you can't skip the cut-scenes. Overall, though, I'd say 7/10 |
I had finished RE 4 at the beginning of the year but had not yet played the bonus sections, seperate ways etc... I've been playing Dragon Quest 8 and finished it once but it sucks to get the best ending, you need level 65 to get to beat that hidden boss and I'm only level 49 and it takes one hour to get one level if you are lucky and find strong enemies all the time...so I just quit it and am playing RE 4 Seperate ways right now...only 2 reports to get but I don't have much time to play either...only on sunday mornings
|
Just finished HL2: Episode One which wsa great. Hours play per pound was rather low but the set pieces were just as great as the original.
Also, just finished the Prey Demo which is pretty inventive and at points spectactular! Deathmatch with multiple gravities is something else, you jump to a ledge, the gravity shifts and with a slight queseyness the screen tilts and you land upright on a wall or ceiling. |
Right now I'm playing:
Prey (360): Reminds me alot of Half Life 2, it uses a revamped doom3 engine and the graphics look awesome in high def. I'd give it a 4/5 so far, some of the puzzles are not too hard and once in a while its not very clear where you are supposed to go. Chromehounds (360): I like the mech combat but the single player is basically a bunch of tutorials. Its hard to say if this will catch on, right now you don't see alot of people online during certain times of the day which makes it boring. 3/5 |
Just picked up HL2(Game of the Year Edition), rolling through it. It's great.
|
I've recently played Oblivion, and have had a lot of fun; too bad I've pretty much "finished" the game, though. Walking around as a demi-god tends to get boring after a while.
I also just got Prey. It's got some interesting innovations, such as being able to change the direction of gravity, and portals to other places. The whole ghost-walking routine also adds to the puzzles. I just found it a bit too easy (on the easy setting, duh!), and a bit too short. I finished it in a week of only-evening and weekend gaming. Quote:
Ultimately, I think it does get a bit boring after a while. I mean, what's left to do but build yet another colony, invent another even bigger gun, and build yet another highly advanced fighter? But as far as space games go, this is a good one. |
Just recently rented and finished Hitman: Blood Money. I had never played any of the previous Hitman games so I was quite impressed, especially with the graphics on my 54" HD big screen. :D I also rented Chromehounds which is a very solid game but it's too slow paced for me, even online. Just not my type of game really.
|
I got Dead Rising last week.
Every other game (and social activity) has been on the shelf ever since. |

Esoteric: Would you say the 15th iteration of a football video game was a little redundant after a while? :) Not that Madden isn't the top dog right now, but it's a football video game. All you're adding is graphical and roster updates at this point.

Get Dead Rising ... fantastic concept ... my only wish is that the controls were customizable ... they can get a little confusing to use at times. Other than that it's a lot of fun. |
Just downloaded and played F.E.A.R Combat, a free multiplayer game to the original F.E.A.R. Pretty fun, doesn't need a crazy system to run it. Some weapons have a slight edge over others. Lots of new players on servers for easy pickens' but it takes a while to adapt to the environment. Goto www.joinfear.com to dl (1.8g) and obtain a key.
|
StarWars Battlefront 1 for the PS2, and it's easily one of the best games I've ever purchased. It's stable, realistic, well balanced, and honestly fun. It's re-play value is fantastic; aside from the single player, the pvp is probably one of the best parts of the game. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys somewhat stratiegic first person shooters. Five stars.
|
I just started playing Prey recently, and it's pretty excellent for an FPS. It's got creative weaponry, good puzzles, and some awesome gravitational manipulation. It's a really unique take on an old genre.
|
Thinking about plunking down the cash for Madden 07 for my DS Lite. Anyone played it yet? Is it worth it?
|
Quote:
I ended up buying both Dead Rising and Madden 07 for my 360 and I have to say I'm quite pleased with both games, even though of course people online in Madden like to use the same shit over and over again. I had some kid last night pick the Cowboys and do nothing but throw to T.O. the entire game...needless to say I lost. Dead Rising is so fun, I don't think the mindless zombie killing can ever get boring. |
Disgaea 2 has pushed all others to the back. I can lose 4 hours to that game at a stretch and only notice when the room is too dark to see anything but the TV because the sun set. That game is a danger to me.
|
Heh, I know what you mean Kadath. When I see games like WoW, I can almost see ahead to how addicted I could get to it. Willpower man, WILLPOWER!
|
Just built my new rig (was sorely needing one, other pc is a 5 year old Dimension 4300) so I've been catching up on some pc games.
Bought Half Life 2, F.E.A.R., Farcry, Prey and Oblivion (yup have never played Farcry or HL2). Started F.E.A.R. today and it looks nice, maps are a bit repetative but the AI is sweet and there have been some parts that scared the crap out of me. Bought a DS Lite on impulse the other day because I want Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan. Got New Super Mario Brothers which is cool and Monkey Ball. Have the two GBA Castlevania games to play too. |
I had never heard of F.E.A.R. until they came out with Combat. I bought the retail version a few days later. Meh. I still play the multiplayer, but the game itself isn't that interesting.
|
I just got a copy of "Semper Fidelis: Marine Corps" for my birthday, and I love it. I was never one for the first-person shooter type game, but I love this thing! Easy controls, lots of toys, and Online game-play is great!

I bought my DS Lite the other night and purchased a few games (two of which I've barely played - Tetris and Super Mario Bros). However, I play Mario Kart ALL the time - single player, via internet, you name it. It's a BLAST! I'm addicted, and it was so worth every penny!
|
Playing Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow on my DS Lite right now and loving it. I can't wait for Portrait of Ruin. I think I'm going to get MegaMan ZX because I'm enjoying the side scrolling format so much.
I also got Madden 07. Pretty awesome game, but the kicking takes a lot of getting used to. |
I'm an addicted bran turismo fan... don't play much other games...

I've got two...
Marvel Ultimate Alliance - From the folks at Raven, who brought you the X-men Legends game. Very cool stuff. Gameplay is similar to the X-men games, but better. The cast of characters has some stinkers, but you get to play as Capt. America AND Thor, which more than makes up for it. I bought it solely for the co-op play. I get a kick out of showing off my (albeit limited) knowledge of the Marvel Universe (and playing Capt. America...did I mention Capt. America?) and he gets a kick out of smashing shit with Spiderman. Splinter Cell: Double Agent - It's more a refinement of what worked in Chaos Theory with a couple of new (and sometimes poorly implemented) bits and pieces. The new 'trust' thing can be a bit irritating sometimes. The new 'danger light' takes a bit to get used to and the AI is a bit wonky. The game is also incredibly short. Not that I expect a 100+ hour "Oblivion-esque" experience, but I feel a bit cheated considering what I shelled out for it at Wal*Mart. On the plus side, it's an incredibly pretty game. The online multi-player has been dumbed down a bit, which is a real bonus for us that don't have endless hours mastering a complicated control scheme just to be able to hold our own online. I haven't played any of the co-op stuff, although I'm glad to see it's back. The story is fairly solid and the voice acting is spot on, as always. |
Recently picked up Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and it's awesome. The Tau Empire and Necrons are a nice addition to the other 5 factions, and the new units for the existing factions are nice. I also purchased Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for Xbox Live Arcade and it's just as good as it was when it first came out. One of my all time favorite MK games. <3 Scorpion

I just went out and bought the special edition of Bully. I've yet to play it, but all I've heard about the game is good. I believe the only "special" thing about it is the packaging, a comic, a Rockstar games sticker and an inflatable dodgeball. Looks like it should be pretty fun (I hope).
|
I want to get Dark Crusade but it feels like 30 bucks is too much for what will be not a lot of content.
I want Marvel Alliance, but I guess I'll wait and get it for the Wii. |
I got trauma centre: under the knife a couple days back
great little game, the learning curve is excellent |

Got SWAT 4 the other night and was messing around on it, I am enjoying it so far. Will let you know more after I've dug into it a bit

I just picked up Dark Crusade too. I haven't bought a new pc game in years but since I just became unemployed I figured I would actually have time to play one. I have to say I'm impressed. I love the graphics and all the games workshoppy goodness without stinky gamer funk.

need for speed Carbon
fun game. gets really anoying with the wingman and all the million menus. but the racing is good. 7/10 Tekken 5 when i got this, it sucked completely but when i got the controls down, it started to get pretty good. i can now beat the game without dying too much. the devil within minigame is allright but it's not why i bought it. 8.5/10 Shadow of the Colossus this is by far the best 3rd person game i ever played. it's a boss fight game. imagine all the best boss fights from your favorite game put into 1. some of them are so awesome that it's sad to kill them. 10/10 it's all good! |
FEAR for the 360.
9/10 Kickass game. Awesome single player, and the MP is excellent. Solid game. |
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance ... a much better game than I expected. I grew up in the "Silver Age" of Marvel Comics so I bought it just for the theme - what I didn't expect was that it would actually be a very well designed and detailed game.

picked up elite beat agents for my DS the other day.
solid game. |
Picked up my copy of Gears of War last night after work and it's amazing. Enough said, lol.

The single player is quite possibly the best I've ever played in any shooter (including half life). The multiplayer isn't as well polished but the addition of having to chainsaw or head stomp your enemy in order to put them out for good makes the matches different. |

I just started playing Dark Messiah of might and magic, and am pretty impressed by the graphics and great gameplay. I don't like the overly linear scenario, though; I'm used to games like Oblivion, where you can do whatever you want... Of course, if you see Dark Messiah as a regular action game, it's great.
Oh, and I also just stated playing Neverwinter Nights 2. Looks nice and seems to grasp the olde D&D feeling. I'm just fighting a bit with the overhead camera, which doesn't seem to do what I want it to. That's probably my own fault, though; there are other camera modes I haven't tried yet. |
Gears of War 10/10
The most fun game that I have ever played. This game is a MUST. If you needed a reason to get a 360 right now, this is it... |
I recently purchased an X-Box 360 and the first two games I bought were "Moto GP '06" and "Splinter Cell: Double Agent". I think both games are very fun and have outstanding graphics, but I really don't have any basis for comparison/rating because they are the only X-Box 360 games I've really played (other than a few minutes playing with a demo at a store).

Medieval 2: Total War 95%
This game is everything I hoped it to be. Leading crusades, fighting heresy, seiging castles, assassinating your rival' heirs - this game has it all. It won't be long before the rest of Europe follows Scotland and France and is crushed under my English boot. I've got my eye on you next, Portugal. |
Finally got my GameCube back from a friends house that I've been meaning to get for awhile now. Went out and picked up Resident Evil 4, and I'm extremely impressed with it. Not only do the graphics look amazing for being on the GC but the gameplay is awesome. I haven't gotten very far (I'm on Chapter 1, Part 4 I think) but it's looking to be a great game.

I just played Rainbow Six: Vegas on my friend's XBOX360 and I loved it. If its on PC, I gotta get it. If its not, I think I'll just.. cry.

PS2 games:
Guitar Hero 2: I haven't played the 1st one yet but i did play the Amplitude game from the same company so I knew this would be a great game. It's even better than i expected! the soundtrack is insanely good and with the guitar controller, it's so much more fun!(amplitude was with the dualshock) Now i only played the easy mode and a few of the medium modes but they're awesome up to now! I think i can get better to try hard or even expert soon. if you have money for a new game, this is the one to get. if you have even more $, get a second controller for multiplayer. it must be even more fun as a coop. overall score: 9.6/10 Resident Evil 4: I got this game because it's the top rated game on gamerankings.com. i had originally planed to get The Warriors for myself for xmas but since the only copy was used with a huge scratch that didn't allow me to play, i got RE4. I've never played any of the games but i did watch both movies so i know it's a cool concept. the game: controls are easy when you get used to them. at 1st, it's almost impossible to aim. the rpg elements are great. (upgrade your weapons etc..) It's also interesting to see that theres an inventory in a shooter. The story for now seems allright and cool. the scenes, characters and buidlings are really well made. one thing that i didn't like was the invisible walls seen everywhere. but when you know theres only a few things to do in that area, it's understandable. overall score: 8.5/10 for now since i'm only on the 1st level. definitly a 9.5/10 for replayability. this game will last me forever if this 1st level is just a small % of the game! |
Right now playing Condemned: Criminal Origins. Good christ this game is ridiculously SCARY. My nerves are shot! :p

I've played F.E.A.R. for quite some time now, but recently bought its expansion pack, Extraction Point. Oh, where to begin with this wonderful game? I can honestly say this has so far been the only game I've played that truly has me jumpy and wondering what might be around the next corner. The gameplay is excellent, the graphics are wonderful even on my mid-level computer that undoubtedly cannot do justice to the game's full potential, and replay value is superb. The multiplayer aspect of the game is intense and keeps you engaged.
Overall, a solid 10/10 in my book. |
