Your best/favorite Strategy war game - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Figured I might as well see everyones opinion on this while I was at it. I have played many RTS games. The only one I ever got competitive in was Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne. I played Starcraft, Age of Empires, and Age of Mythology online as well. My favorite was Warcraft 3 because it was so well balanced while at the same time, was easy enough to controll and you didn't have to have the micromanagment down to the lvl of Donald Trump to get things done right. Age of Mythologies was probably better, but I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it. I was too busy with Warcraft. What are your opinions?

Oh man, let's see...

I guess I'd have to choose Medieval: Total War. It was programmed by god and handed down to Creative Assembly for distribution to me. That how much the game fit my personality and gaming style.

Yes, that was a truly fine game out of so many other, excellent choices.

Id say any of the Total War series, as well as Blitzkrieg:Total Challenge (the name speaks for itself)

Rise of Nations is probably the best one I have played in my opinion. I like Total War: Shogun, but it's usually not a good sign when your getting your ass handed to you during the tutorial, again and again.

Harpoon. It used to run so slowly on my old PC (my first PC) that I would read a book while the game ran at 4x or whatever was the fastest time compression.

I can't have just one... I have to say Starcraft, AoE, AoK and WC2.

I still play AoK, and I'd play Starcraft if I still had the game.

I'm gonna have to go with Command and Conquer: Generals w/ Zero Hour expansion. There's something truly satisfying about carpet bombing an incoming column of laser tanks with a stealth bomber.

Starcraft, SW:Galactic Battlegrounds, Warcraft 2, Age of Mythology, and the first two Myth games get a special mention for being so different and awesome.

Warcraft III the frozen throne all the way. I like all the microing and the challenge it presents.

I never got into any Age of ____ games. Played them a little bit, but never really had much fun.
