To those who though SMB3 was hard
I saw this today and couldn't stop staring in amazement: http://home.southernct.edu/~hoffmanc...imeAttack.html
|
I've seen this somewhere before, maybe even here on TFP. It's not real. The guy who made it (someone in Japan I believe) edited it together over several years to make it seem so flawless.
Too bad too, that'd be great if someone could do that. |
yeah, saw this a few years back, it was done in an emulator and he saved state constantly to reload if he screwed up.
He didn't intend to fool anyone into thinking that it was real, it was posted on his website, but people seeing it couldn't read the Japanese. At least, that's the story I heard from my brother's sister former roommate's barber. |
Anyway, it's still pretty damn awesome =)
|
The trick he used was in slowing down the emulator.
That way you have time to see/react to everything. Speed it up and it looks like you're a god. SMB3 was annoying. It was fun, sure, but it sucked ass that you couldn't save - it's too damn tedious going through all that shit in one sitting. |
I saw that video a few months ago and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread... but yeah, he used an emulator and slowed it down to 1/30 speed, recording the entire time.
However... there is a guy that speed ran it and got a time that was only like... 20 seconds longer than that? http://www.archive.org/movies/detail...id=Mario3_1111 |
SMB3 is the only NES mario that I've beaten. Not very hard, especially with the whistles.
|
That is freaking awesome, regardless. I was enchanted by it for like 20min. hahaah
|
There was another one where he had an emulator and was taking out a couple frames every second which helped reduce his times.
