EVE Online
Anyone here played EO? I remember being very interested in the idea during its development, so I decided to check back on it after a year or two of negligance and from the looks of the website everythings up and running... has anyone here ever played?
http://www.eve-online.com/ |
I currently play this game. I was searching for graphical MUDs sometime late 2003, and found EVE. I didn't have powerful graphics card at the time, so I had to wait two agonizing months. With the screenshots, the backstory, and the library all at my fingertips, I had to excercise great willpower to not to drool over myself.
The first time I went into warp, my jaw hit the floor and I said to myself that this is the only game I'm going to play and stay interested in (as I don't play games very often, they have to interest me right from the get go to have my support)... and I have. It has been just over a year since I've joined. I've made a lot of friends, and have learned a lot about all facets of the game. I'm primarily a miner, but my wish is to get into player-versus-player action soon. The graphics, the story, and the multitude of options in-game are in short, amazing. Do you want to be a trader? A player-Killer? A miner? A researcher? A manufacturer? These and many more options are available. This game currently holds the record for non-shardless MMORPGs - about 12 800 people online at once. No other RPG can currently touch this record. World of Warcraft and all the others require you to join a certai server and stay on that server. What is worse is that each server's gameplay is separate. EVE Online has no such restriction. Communicate, buddy up, and fight with whomever you wish. There is a no-obligation 14-day trial available to anyone who is interested, just look for it on the front page of the website linked above. That means no credit card numbers, and no stranglehold by the game's maintainers. Play for two weeks (each account has three separate character slots available for you to use), and if you don't like it, cancel your account. It's that easy, and CCP (the game's creator) has been very good to those who just want to see the game first-hand. Lak, that above wasn't for you obviously, but for all the MMORPG players who aren't on EVE already. I seriously cannot say enough about this game. It has taken my breath away. What about you, Lak? If anyone is interested in contacting me in-game, PM me on TFP or leave your in-game name here in this thread. |
I'm downloading the game now, planning to take advantage of the free trial.
Looks fun, but also very complicated. |
I played in the beta. It was an incredibly complex and detailed world even back then. Excellent graphics and music too, but I got bored with mining about the time of the final release and didn't really feel like starting from scratch. I didn't know about the free trial, maybe I'll check it out again.
|
I''m playing it and it's GREAT!
I'm in a very FUN corp and I think that's all that counts.. to have a nice bunch of people to play with and operate as a fleet. own space station and TeamSpeaks and all. Right now a couple of noob organizations we're stupid enough to declare a war on us (cause we revealed their spy inside our corp) so it'll be filled with action in High Sec for some time before we wipe them out! ;) What are your character names? - Convo me, I'm "Orityhia". And join our corp. It's rich and you can do pretty much whatever u like, missions etc. every now and then some mining ops in 0.0 and then we need miners or protection to our fleet. And right now, we could use some Fighters to wipe those other thief-corps out! :) looking for some PvP action in High Sec? Blasting noobs out stupid enough to lock you? always fun.. Convo or EVEMAIL me! (even if you don't wanna join, nice to know TFP folks from there and I'm always willing to help if something comes up) - Ori |
Downloading now :)
Hope my graphics card can handle it. |
OMG this game is sick.
I think I'm going to buy it when my 14 day trial period runs out :) |
I use to play it.
Looks very nice, good story etc etc but I just found it boring :( The mission were not very good (6 jumps to another system then 6 jumps back) and I hated mining. Not enough combat init for me. Myabe its better now :) This was a while ago, lol. |
Curse you people for opening me up to the world of MMORPGs!!
I had been doing so good at avoiding them and the time drain they cause, but then I had to go and download this freakin game :| :| I weep for my grades...... :p   |
Darn you all to heck, now I've started playing this game too! Just like Carn, I'm going to have to pay for this game once my trial period finishes. Argh, and I've been so good up till now, avoiding things like City of Heroes and World of Warcraft, only to succumb to my one weakness, sci-fi space action.
|

But It's just so FUN.. and only a game. Guys send me an EVEMAIL or convo me, and I'll arrange you to join our corp so you'll get all the help you need, and more. :) we can make your next ship if you wish, etc.. Tough missions you can't get through? I or someone else will fly to help you out if you want. my character: Orithyia See you in space. |
Downloading it right now. Ive been semi interested in this game but never actually had a chance to play it, so thanks for the heads up on the trial.
Currently suffering some MMO burnout hehe, trying to find a new MMO that I can get into. |
I just downloaded this and played a bit of it. I was spurred on by a buddy of mine who posted on another board about something that happened on this game last spring.
Click this link: http://www.mmodig.com/?p=155 and then read the four pages that are scanned in at the top. You KNOW there was some people totally FREAKING out about that. |
Okay, this post motivated me to download and try the 14 day free trial. It was okay until I got to the part where you have to mine. The tutorial thing says that after I fill up my cargo hold with ore, go to the next gate. The problem was that my cargo holds 120 units, and every asteroid I mined was worth 0.1 unit. If you think I'm going to just sit there and mine 1,200 asteroids you got another thing coming. What an awful thing to put in the tutorial...good bye Eve.
|
Alright, downloading now...
In theory, the game sounds amazing... we'll see how it turns out :D |
I have been playing for about 6 weeks.
I've joined a mega corp in a major alliance and just biding my time to head into 0.0. I hope to pod many of you :) |

Alright, I think I'm a moron... where is the free trial?
|
AH HA! It took a while searching, but I figured it out...
Looks like I'll be purchasing it as well... |
I just grabbed the 14 day trial (I think I'm on day 5 or 6 now), and I'm finding it very relaxing compared to other MMOs. Maybe I'm just getting old or something, but FPS games and "normal" MMOs have stressed me out, it's nice to just be able to relax as your ship cruises through space :)
|
Blegh, I wish I could still play this game.. This thread reminded me how much I liked it.
Damn school sucking up all my time  :| |
Well, at first I thought it was really, really slow paced, but then I realized this just might be the perfect thing for me. I can begin traveling somewhere, minimize, actually be productive, and occasionally check back in to see if I'm there yet...
It is pretty neat - I somehow got quite a bit of money, and now I'm just waiting to get my skills up before I start spending it... |
I started playing Eve at the tail end of 2004.
Got into a mining corp, did some missions and ended up quitting out of boredom after about 3 months. Came back a few months later and did mnothing but missions, lasted about a month before I quit again. Came back again and this time decided to try something different. Joined a corp in 0.0, became part of an alliance and joined the fight for Detorid ( a region of space in 0.0). That was about 6 or 7 months ago. I'll be thefirst to admit this game can be boring as all hell, but joining the right corp is a world of difference. Nothing like hearing the call that one of our pos's (player owned stations) is under attack by an enemy alliance and organizing a fleet of ships to go defend it. The guys who make this game (CCP) also just upgraded their entire server farm to reduce lag. Its things like that and the regular free expansion packs, that are gonna keep me from quitting for some time. Oh and check this out Link All these ships can be flown in the game. The 4 biggest have yet to be manufactured yet however. Those tiny specks are the frigates (the starting craft of eve) |
Holy Jesus!
Damn, those are some bigass ships! I quit playing when all I had was that crappy Caldari ship that looks like the Firefly. Hmmm... Maybe I'll buy this game for summer vacation.... |
I just registered a 14 day trial account and downloaded the client. This was the fastest download I have ever seen, by the way. It downloaded at about 496kb/s the whole time. Usually my downloads start about that fast, then drop down to an average of 150kb/s or slower. I was pretty impressed about that.
Apparently though, I chose a bad time to try the game out. I can't even connect to the game, I checked to the forums and a lot of people are having the same problem. Today was patch day and there seems to be a lot of post-patch issues happening. I just want to try this game out. :( |
Maybe it's just me, but I can't find anywhere to get a 14-day cd key. Did they take it off the site?
edit: Nevermind, a google search can do wonders  |
I just started a corp, we are pretty much all newbies in it, but anyone from the TFP is welcome to join. It's called Dawn of Fate, INC.
Drop me an evemail or private message me if you are interested, the in game name is NoSoup :D |
I got into the game, and I played for a long, long time. This game is really awesome... It's like, what freelancer could have been. I really couldn't stop playing it... at least until the server went down for maintenance.
|
I got up and running last night, and it was amazing. For one thing the tutorial was the longest I've ever seen. From the open-ended design it looks like it could go on forever.
If I actually had time to play it I would buy it now. |
Looks like I bought it anyway, I couldn't resist. My in-game name is Steve Dracon if I pass anyone.
|
I've been playing Eve for about 10 months now. Have a character all the way out in Solitude region right now. If any of you that just started need assistance, let me know. You are right that this game goes on forever... In ten months, I have only gotten 3.4% of the total skillpoints available in the game. I am still learning a lot of the different aspects of the game. And there is a ton left to learn! Sometime this year they will be upgrading the graphical engine, which will make it an even more beautiful game.
In game, my character name is Das Haagen. |
I move into 0.0 this weekend. Joined ASCN, need to get my empire stuff sorted out before I move, jump clones set up, etc.
|
Ustwo, did you take part in the siege of EC-P8R? If so, how was it?
|
Quote:
I joined ASCN proper on Sunday so I missed the first wave. Now I'm part of the G-M gate camp which is the least used gate. The only good thing is there were tempest snipers out today when I logged on at lunch. I only had a Vexor there (my domi is parked) and they called me primary. I lost a crappy t1 vexor, they lost a tempest with t2s. Then I came back in a suicide tackler and they warped in with 4 tempests and a cov-ops. We got another tempest and popped the cov-ops as well. Not sure what we lost in that one. The rest of the time you are looking at warpbubbles. I'm sure its great fun for the dread pirates out POS popping, but for the gate camp.....its dull. I have a feeling if G-Iron makes another attempt to save EC it will be through the GM camp, which means I'll get to die again and then they will be swarmmed by BoB et al. |
Well, I would expect a counter attack this weekend since that's when most everybody plays.
I just hope you guys finish up soon, I'm getting lagged out while doing missions in Torrinos! |
Quote:
Course now that I'm in ASCN I'll have to deal with the revenge gank squads in home space I'm sure  |

ISS is taking over the station, and as anyone with a brain expected BoB is now going to try to 'win eve'. ASCN is preparing as if they are the next target. I think it was a mistake to help BoB there, but ASCN had a very big grudge against G/Iron as G/Iron got a NAP from ASCN and then did a sneak attack while ASCN was still blue to them in the recent past. |
I've just d/l'd the client and I'm ready to start but I had a couple of questions I won't be getting answers to in a tutorial...
- What's it like to solo in this game? Is joining a corp the only way to get through life (or the universe and everything) - Can any race join any corp? [edit got this one, requires a special skill] - how often do newbs get ganked and then have their pod ganked as well? assuming i don't do stupid stuff like take my newb ship to low security areas - how many game missions require spawn camping for a unique mob? (are they called mobs in space?) I think I might have played in the beta for this game and recall that being an issue... and finally, how much new content has been added since release? are the devs active? Thanks to anyone who can pitch in on these... |
well, lets see
You can solo just fine, but the most fun will be had in an active corp. It gives a new dimension to the game. As long as you stay in 0.5 and above you shouldn't have to worry about getting podded unless you're really unlucky. But most of the people who would do that can't get into the 0.5-1.0 systems anymore because of their security rating. Ganking is the same way. Don't steal someone's can or shoot first and you should be ok. I've run into very few missions that require camping for a mob. There are quite a bit of spawned encounters, but they're already there when you arrive. And it depends on what type of mission it is too. The Devs are still active, they're supposed to be coming out with an expansion sometime in the next few months. But they've also released quite a few since the game went gold. Glad to see someone else getting into the game. What's your name ingame? |
I've just d/l'd the client and I'm ready to start but I had a couple of questions I won't be getting answers to in a tutorial...
- What's it like to solo in this game? Is joining a corp the only way to get through life (or the universe and everything) I soloed my first 500 million or so in assets. Soloing is fine but the missions get VERY old after a while. - Can any race join any corp? [edit got this one, requires a special skill] Any race can join any player corp. You need standing to join npc corps, but thats not hard to get. - how often do newbs get ganked and then have their pod ganked as well? assuming i don't do stupid stuff like take my newb ship to low security areas Low sec isn't as dangerous as you think, but you will get ganked. I finally got ganked in low sec but that wasn't until I was there for over a month. - how many game missions require spawn camping for a unique mob? (are they called mobs in space?) I think I might have played in the beta for this game and recall that being an issue... I've never spawn camped for anything in eve. and finally, how much new content has been added since release? are the devs active? Devs are very active and expansions are free. There is a very big one comming up. |
Thanks for the answers. I got part way through the tutorial last night and I'm looking forward to seeing what else there is to explore.
My ingame name is Cailynt Tar but that may change if (more like when) I reroll. I've got a few weeks off coming up to recover from surgery so I'm hoping to have some serious gametime. |
Well I've been playing almost a month now and I'm still enjoying the game. Right now I'm trying to build up my bank account by hauling NPC trade goods between stations...once you get a certain amount of capital it's easy to build up more if you are willing to watch and wait. I still haven't joined a corp so low-sec is off limits most of the time. I had my freighter (Badger II) blown to hell and gone by gate camping pirates in .4 space Friday night so I've learned to watch more closely where I go. (luckily it was empty)
I'm not sure what route I want to take and it seems most corps are pigeonholing people into specific areas. For now, I'm just an indy indy driver and really having quite a bit of fun. I should hit 500k SP tonight or tomorrow. I think in about 2 weeks I should be ready to buy my first Ferox BC and I'm greatly anticipating that moment. Still, this is what I was hoping Earth and Beyond would be... |
So, ASCN crushed Tribal Souls. See any action in that campaign, Ustwo?
Now you've been part of ASCN for a while, what's life like in 0.0 compared to life in empire? |
Port, sounds like you are getting sucked into EVE like the rest of us. You should be well past 1 million SP by now. Believe me, I have been playing a little over a year and I am still learning things. Even with 15 million skillpoints, it's a drop in the bucket. Always will be a ship I can't fly, and a gun I can't use. :)

I like 0.0 and I like ASCN, my corp is the suck. CEO doesn't have a clue, which explains why they were taking noobs in 0.0 I guess (because they bleed quality members). I'm just biding my time for now. |
Loving my new ship.. Moonshine.. The Damnation.
not gonna go for the capitals quite yet. WE should have a TFP meeting one day there in 0.4 or something ;) |
Seems that some interesting stories come out of this game. It doesn't seem that anyone has mentioned this escapade yet: The Great Scam by Nightfreeze
I have never played the game and probably never will (just can't really get into RPG's), but I found the story to be very entertaining. |
Well im downloading it now and I am going to try out the trial period. If it delivers on its potential then ill likely pay for a subscription. I hope to see some of you in the vast reaches of space.
EDIT **Apparently I am not going to try the trial period as everywhere I attempt to sign up keeps asking for money. I dont mind the subscription fee, but im not sure I want to drop the money on something I havent played before and on something that seems as deep and complex as this game. Dont want to spend the money and end up being stuck somewhere I shouldnt be. |

So is there a TFP Corp up and running yet?
I just restarted the game last night - Characters are Bruxieus and Polynikes Domen |
So I'm a bit confused with the death system and it is the biggest things preventing me from playing. It sounds like when you die, you lose everything? Or at least your ship, if it's destroyed? Arn't the big ships really exepensive and take forever to make? Do you lose you skill? What are you left with? Etc.
Main question summed up is how much time is it possible to lose? If you have one of those expensive ships, is it really possible to lose all that time and effort? |
Quote:
You can insure your ship for up to it's worth in the pieces that are used to make it (The ore and stuff). If your ship is des troyed you lose what's in it and what's on it (weapons, items, any parts you've hooked up to it like cargo expanders, armor, etc.) That's not insured. When your ship is destroyed you're floating through space in a pod, which can be destroyed and if you're killed by a real ass hole chances are it will be, which is why you invest in clones. These clones save X amount of skill points for you which if you die without a clone you're up shit creek and have to start completely over. Clones cost money, the more skill points attached to your clone the more money it costs for you to have. If you lose your ship or your clone, you could lose a LOT of time and effort, or you can lose just money and a little time. Depends on how updated your insurance and all that is. |
The best rule for dying in eve is don't fly what you cant afford to lose because you CAN and WILL lose it. It is possible to stay in high sec space. 0.5 and above and stay in a npc corp and never get shot at by anything other than npcs with entails very little risk (and they will never kill your pod).
HOWEVER The rewards in low sec are MUCH higher than in 0.5 and above. (Of course they are or else why would people even move to low sec when they know the risks) So you might spend a month to earn 200m in a 0.8 system doing level 4 missions but you could earn the same in 0.0 in a week. So yes you have the chance to lose your ship but you make it up that much quicker so it doesn't matter as much. Also you will be surprised how quickly ou recover. My first cruiser loss, no wait my first battleship loss abou 120m when i only had a 50m bank balance made me want to cry. Especially because it was entirely my fault. Now it was awful and I felt rubbish but i learnt from it.... 1) Dont fly what you cant afford. 2) Killing 1 cov ops ship does not warrant losing a bs to sentry guns :( 3) Sentry guns hurt when you're new. 4) Piracy is as dangerous as anti piracy. 5) If your in a good corp then things like this dont matter. On point 5. Within 2 weeks my corp had helped me mine enough ore to build a new megathron and i was back on my feet again. Hope that helps a bit. I could go on forever about eve, it seems to have taken over my life but i feel im rambling. Feel free to convo me in game though anyone looking for some advice. 'Bazan Kor' |
Sounds too much like real life (not as in we all have space ships but as in risks). Obviously I cant say for sure without playing it but I can't imagine why anyone would pay $15ish a month to basically do what seems to amount to online work.
|
Quote:
Like Bazan_Kor said, if you fly what you can afford to lose then getting your ship destroyed isn't such a big deal. Losing a ship isn't such a huge setback for me because it only represents a small percentage of my character's wealth. |
Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial on blueprints, engineering and manufacturing? This part interests me, but as an EO-n00b I'm a bit lost. Thanks!

So what did everyone think of the alliance tournament? I caught the finals on eve-tv, the semi finals were excellent, too bad about the final but I can't blame either ASCN or BOB given what was at stake. Congrats to BOB and also to Mr Fix for taking the amount of smack he did after the fight :| which he certainly DIDNT deserve :(. 600 people online in ascn at the time of the battle and 3 volunteered so meh.
O well we (ascn) dont need another mothership anyway :p |
I have yet to watch any of the replays but reading the highlights has been pretty exciting.
So what was the full story there with the finals? Was Mr Fix convo spammed at the beginning of the tiebreaker round and if so, any ideas who was behind it? |
Yea as soon as the fight started he got convo spammed. Apparently so did the BOB pilot but mr fix seems to have come worse off. Im pretty sure ccp are investigating who was behind it but a 7day trial alt can convo spam someone so it might be difficult to get to who it actually was. Obviously alot of people had alot of isk riding on the outcome of the final so there was definately a motive. That aside....the BOB pilot did have the better setup so kudos to him. ASCNwere working on intelligence that a taranis would be used, if it had been the crow should have wiped the floor with it. This intel was accurate as BOB were choosing between a ranis and the crow but they went with the crow in the end leading to an easy match for their pilot.

EVE Online...
what can I say about this game... lets see... I'll start off negatively -- the HUD can use some major overhauls. There's a lot of extra clicking that's entirely not required. The learning curve for the game is outstanding. I have been in the game for 8 months and I'm still learning useful stuff. Positively... well, best game you'll ever play if you actually like to get into games. I've never seen a game with so much depth, character and possibility before. It's incredible in that respect, and very soon (for those of you who want to do it - it isn't rquired) they're updating the graphics to even more incredible. I have a lot of respect for CCP (the developers) they keep their content fresh and very interesting and update older content to give it life once again. With that said, I'm Gallente and I whoop a lot of ass. I'm in a small sized corp that's overly efficient. Maybe 30 of us in total, about 5-10 of us on a night. We can get enough ore in one day to build a few battleships without issues. I alone made 60mil ISK in the last two days of playing, plus 20mil in other forms. Soloing LVL 4's. Alright enough bragging. I'm mostly in the Heimatar Region under the player name of Dreadwar if for whatever reason you're not in a corp and are looking but aren't completely new; hit me up. Otherwise, you can add me to your friends list I'll do my best to help whomever out. |
Well, I tried out the game for two weeks. It is pretty fun, though actually very slow paced and slightly boring sometimes.
Like many MMORGs, it seems to be addictive to me - and I can spend a lot of my free time playing it. I decided to quit however, going to try to develop my real world skills such as weight lifting and mandarin speaking instead of my game skills of gunnery and missile operation. : ) |
EIB Scam
So did anyone here lose out on the EIB scam? The perp apparently made off with almost a trillion isk! To give some perspective that's about $100,000US if you could sell it at the going rate on ebay.
|
I didn't lose any money, but that's pretty amazing if some guy got away with 1 trillion ISK.
|
Quote:
On ebay that would be worth about 100k USD, so I'm sure CCP is going to be checking very close to see if this guy tries to sell it. You could sell it legitamately with time cards but it would take an awfully long time. I've left ASCN myself. Its a very nice carebear area, but I couldn't handle my asshole CEO anymore. I can make just about as much soloing level 4's and playing with some friends as I did in ASCN and my ultimate goal is joining BoB once my skills are up there. |
I've been playing Eve since May.. started with a Gallente char and played for a month.. then got very busy and shelved it for a bit. Came back a month ago and started fresh with a Caldari... having a blast.
Making my first foray into 0.0 next week, with Agony Unleashed's pvp-basic course. 35 frigates and a warp bubble in Syndicate sounds fun.... Saving up for a cruiser atm..wanna get to at least 10mil before I go and spend all my ISK again (eidetic memory and logic hurt the wallet heh). Will go caracal, since my missile skills are decent, but seriously considering using another races ships, because caldari ships are butt ugly. Name's Tai Otoshi.... still in the noobest corp of the noobcorps, State War Academy. You veterans, come pod me someday and say hello! |
Well I'm joining FIX now, may ASCN burn in BoB's dreads fire.
The guy running the war for ASCN is perhaps the biggest ahole I've run into in any online game, so thats saying a lot. Luckily he is also grossly incompetent as a CO, so you can expect some open space down that way soon. |
You're talking about John McCreedy or Cyvok? Yeah, I've read lot's of stuff about both of them and most of it not very flattering.
Personally, I hope ASCN bloodies BoB's nose a bit. Always rooting for the underdog, especially since BoB has such an arrogant forum presence. |
Quote:
BoB has a bunch of forum whores to be sure, but I have some friends there and they back up their forum whoreness with results. The ASCN leadership is even more arrogant than BoB and you would see a lot more forum whoring from ASCN but they are not ALLOWED to post by alliance order. Just a FYI you can expect ASCN stations to fall this weekend, I think two of them in paragon soul will be able to be taken. BoB really just wanted Paragon Soul and this might end there, but I'm hoping they stay pissed off enough to take it all or at least take O-o and OOY, which would mean no more EDF stations. |
Quote:
Did you get kicked out for ratting/mining while EDF territory was under attack or something? As for your other comments about PS falling over the loss of 2 stations, get a clue. Most of eve expected them to fall in the first week of fighting. Apart from anything We have 2 if not 3 more regions which are perfectly able to mount a counter offensive. By your logic the loss of the 1 Xetic station should have resulted in the loss of half of fountain, but wait...they took it back, why should gq2 be any different? |
Quote:
John is that you, you raving psychopath? John has threatened people IN GAME with REAL LIFE threats including a friend of mine in game. Suck it down, ASCN is lead by idiots, and I refuse to contribute to some idiot waving his epeen glory. And FYI I wasn't kicked out of EDF, I left like just about every other vet does. Its a game and John does his best to suck the fun out of it, and then explain why you are wrong to not like him, and how he knows best after all he has played 3 years and why don't you like him, can't you see he knows best? Their main FC quit mid war to join MC, in large part because he couldn't deal with John anymore. He chased off his entire mining divsion, and was desperate enough to OPEN RECRUIT DURRING A WAR, and worse use those moronic statistics that made him such a joke on the forums. John is a laughing stock of eve, anyone who respects him has either never worked with him directly or is 17 and thinks this is normal adult behavior in game. As for your war effort, until ASCN can win a fleet battle, ONE fleet battle, you can't win as you will never be able to pop a POS. Hell despite John's promise ASCN never could get rid of the GQ POS, and now BoB has sovrenty over GQ and H8 so those systems are lost pretty much perminently, unless again, ASCN can beat a BoB fleet. |
Ah fellow EVE players here, and even Ustwo.
Been playing since Jan 2005, had a lots of fun. Currently of course in 0.0 kicking some russian ass and trying to save our 10/10. |
O'Doyle Rules!
Oh, wait, wrong thread. EVE Rules! I've been playing for over a year and a half now. It's the first online game i've ever played and I think I just may stop playing it when CCP stops supporting it. :) I'm in the same corp as Chytrak. In game name: Namo Iluvatar |
Anyone playing this anymore? Scottkuma brought it up the other day and I've reactivated my account. There've been a few expansions (free) since I played last. I feel lost all over again!

aww I tried the 21 day free steam....
it's beautiful, but I just coulnd't get into it figuring out how to get from place to place in the tutorial. I'll try again. |
Got a buddy who plays EVE, well he used to be a buddy, he said he wanted to grow up and do more adult things, so now he spends I'd guess about 6-10 hours on EVE every day. Don't talk to him much anymore.

I played for a couple months, unsubscribed about a month ago. It's a great game, with a lot of depth. I just didn't have any friends that played it, and it's kind of tough to be social in the game since there really aren't any gathering places like towns or instances or anything.
|
I tried the free trial too after I got pissed at Age of Conan, and while I appreciate the depth of the game starting out seems real tedious. Seemed like all I did was mine asteroids to sell to upgrade my ship which would have taken quite a while, of course I was probably doing something wrong.
When does the pace of the game pick up? Or is it all about the Corp that you join and the PvP systems? |
No, it just takes getting used to. Once you get into the swing of things, the game picks up pretty quickly. If you're looking for early money, but get bored with mining asteroids, try taking combat or moning or delivery missions for NPC Corps. I've never been part of a large Corp. *shrug*
|
I've been getting offers about reactivating my old account, but I'm not sure if I'd want to. Never played in any corps, though, so maybe that will make it new and interesting.

does anyone want to buy my character? I believe I have about 17 million SP and I'm caldari with good standing. I put most of my points into missiles and a few into guns. I also have a bunch in mining and refining. Let me know if your interested price is negotiable
