What 2005 games you looking forward to?
 

Yes, I did do a search on this, and I couldn't find a thread on it already.

So what 2005 games are you looking forward to?
I already reserved Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose.
I don't really care about anything else that's coming out in 2005, though my friends are looking forward to Devil May Cry 3 and Gran Turismo 4.

Also, I know this isn't directly relevant to video games (at least, not yet), but I am *really* looking forward to Episode 3. If you know what I mean by that, then you rock! I mean Star Wars Episode 3, of course! ::drools::
I'm not even a huge Star Wars geek and I'm still hyped about it. For episode 3 I am taking every measure to not see any trailers on the internet or TV, because when I go see it in the theaters I want it to be the rawest movie experience ever! I'm not even reading about it or anything; in fact, I don't even know what the subtitle of it is, and I don't want to know. I want the whole thing to slap me in the face and take me for a ride.

All right, I got way off track. So what games of 2005 are you looking forward to?

The new Zelda game. Coming out in 2005 for Gamecube! Yes!

GTA San Andreas on Xbox

Advent Rising for the XBOX and PC is about it for me; at least for now. Imagine a sci-fi action game where your actions influence how the game plays and its sequel!! Yeah i said it, a game that allows you to alter the story and how the sequel will be played. Sounds like a huge task for the developers but if they pull it off the game will be more than ground-breaking. Do an online search to find out more.

Resident Evil 4...even though it comes out in just a few weeks but still.

Definately GT4.. I'm pratically buying PS2 just for it.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. So far it's scheduled for december 2005, But i seriously doubt it'll hit that mark. But I hope it does, the screenshots look amazing, and Morrowind was awesome.

Dragon Age. A new RPG from the people that brought you Baldur's Gate!!!

Zelda is looking pretty good.

I'm a sucker for the Final Fantasy Games and number 12 is coming up, right?

I'm also looking forward to.....wait for it....Kingdom Hearts II. I know, I know, kiddie game, but I absolutely loved the first one and am eagerly awaiting the sequel.

I'm looking forward to S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Brothers in Arms.

Yes, another vote for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that is, if it comes out in 2005.

I've been waiting for the Call of Cathulu game for some time now. I really hope it doesn't suck.

I second Advent Rising. The fact that the story is written by Orson Scott Card was the first big draw, but the game really sounds like it will be amazing.

Republic Commado[U]. The demo on KOTOR II is awesome. You can find it under the options menu on the main menu page before you start the game.

Guild Wars and KOTOR 2 for PC off the top of my head.

I'm really looking forward to Tekken 5. It looks like it's going to make up for the crappyness of Tekken 4.

Xenosaga II.

This tuesday my friend is gonna lend me his PS2. I'm a HUGE fan of Xenogears, and have probably beat it 3+ times. I've never played more than 30 minutes of Xenosaga.

So I'll get to borrow his PS2 and Xenosaga 1, then I'll beat Xenosaga I with just about perfect timing and be ready for Xenosaga II :thumbsup:

Kiddie game my ass. It was awesome. Just a little short.

Right now, the #1 game I am looking forward to is Animal Crossing DS. No kidding, I think a lot of awesome stuff can be done with a portable animal crossing game. The touch screen will also probably make the game even better. I know a bunch of my friends will be getting it also so lots of interaction between us and trading stuff and stuff. I'm really looking forward to it.

If FFXII comes out, I'll probably buy it, but I am extremely skeptical about the active battle system. Every final fantasy game ever to come out has had the turn based combat with the separate battle screen (with the exception of FFXI, which I love but shouldn't be considered part of the series). FFXII is getting rid of that, and I just can't imagine good things will come of it. Bad memories of Secret of Mana and Kingdom Hearts come to mind, where the players I"m not controlling get slaughtered while the character I'm controlling lives because I'm controlling him. I'm going to buy the game regardless, just because it's a Final Fantasy game. I have never been let down by that, I even liked mystic quest.

Xenosaga II will probably be pretty good... I never got to finish the first one but I liked it a lot. I actually enjoy watching the cutscenes, it's nice to sit back and play an interactive movie sometimes. And Xenosaga II won't have the super-deformed character models that the first one had which is a plus in my opinion. I connect to the characters more when they look like people, it's just a preference of mine.

I read about Super Mario 128 also and I think that's gonna be awesome... It's supposed to be the "true" sequel to Mario 64 (which I loved). I had assumed that Mario Sunshine was the sequel, but I guess nintendo just intended that as a spinoff, or was embarassed about it and wanted to do themselves right by making a real mario game instead of one where you depend more on your spray hose than anything else... I did like sunshine though, but it seemed a little rushed for gamecube release while Mario 128 isn't being rushed. so yeah...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R, shadow of Chernobyl is going to be absolutely awesome, assuming the level of freedom we're being promised is actually delivered. This one's got the potential to be better than Half Life 2, in my opinion

I really reccommend checking out Champion: Return to Arms. It's the sequel to Champions of Norrath on the PS2. For those of you that do not know, Champions of Norrath is based on the Everquest world. It's similar to Diablo is game play and is one of the few multiplayer rpgs on the PS2. It can be alot of fun on multiplayer. If you hate Everquest, do not fear. I hate EQ, but I really liked Champions of Norrath.

Also, look out for Dragon Quest VIII. I believe it's a sequel for the Dragon Warrior series. And as well all know, Dragon Warrior 3 was the best game ever~

Wanted to add, I just saw pics of new Zelda. It looks good...really good.
