top three worst games ever!

What are your top three hated games ever and why?

At the top has to be Paperbay for nintendo (early 90's). I hate that game. Riding around on a bike throwing papers is just plan stupid. Then they put bart simpson on it and changed the name of the game to the simpsons.

Next has to be Duke Nucken II. why... well i lost a very good looking girl over that game. (can't wait untill Duke Nuken III though)

Finally the worst game ever Spider Man for play station 2. It was a great movie, but come on that game sucks.

iRtehCrispeh 05-22-2003 08:22 AM

The 3 worst games in the world are the other 3 games (besides Halo) for X-box:D

Prophecy 05-22-2003 08:25 AM

WWE Crush Hour
Simpsons Skateboarding
Jager Nights

those 3 pretty recent pieaces of crap on the market. I mean there has to be a reason a new release is only $20

TerresqueÜ 05-22-2003 11:43 AM

Well there's this game called "Rascal", it's utterly stupid! Worse than throwing news-papers, you shoot little bubbles at your enemies. And ya know what your power weapon is? RED BUBBLES!

It sucks enough to fill 1,2, and 3!

Necronomicom 05-22-2003 12:28 PM

Kung Fu (NES), i always hated this game
The Dragon Ball RPG for GBA
Bible Adventures (NES)

ImDrFreak 05-22-2003 12:43 PM

Worst. Game. Ever

To be fair, I'm going to just do recent PC games, considering I've been gaming for umpteen years.

Number one: Pool of Radiance Ruins of Myth Dranor

what horrible flotsom. The only game I've straight up sold on ebay the day I got it.

Number two: Impossible Creatures

Such a great concept, and I loved creating critters... but the game itself is such crap.

Number Three: Morrowind

Okay, okay. I'm sorry. This game sucks. Period. I know thousands of billions of people loved it, but come on. It has gorgeous backgrouns, but character designs that make me want to vomit. The interface is absolute crap, conversations are an exercise in futility, combat is absolutely horrid... ugh.. ugh... It's just... ugh.

*snicker*

There are so many horrible games that I've played, that I can't really just pick three out as the worst. Anarchy Online, EverQuest, and DaoC were probably the largests wastes of money for me though.

WhoaitsZ 05-22-2003 04:10 PM

ET on the atari. in the early 80s, if you had a video game and even the three-four years olds wanted it to die, it HAD to be bad.

superman on the n64..... the damned NES could make a better game.

there are too many piece of crap titles to count.......

i am gonna ponder this awhile and get back to ya. i take gaming seriously....

3leggedfrog 05-22-2003 08:46 PM

lol, it was 3 am when i wrote that.

ok here are three more:

teen age ninja turtles all of them!!!!!!!
almost all of sega genis games!!!! they just sucked
summonor of the play station 2!!!! there was more stupid movies than game time

buffto 05-22-2003 10:05 PM

god, you people are missing the TRUE shit.

shaq fu
rise of the robots
phantom fighter

cheese 05-22-2003 11:09 PM

i hear shaq fu that game was wrorrid

but any way
dakatania N64 i read someware taht it was reated the worst game of the year 2001
seshumi (SP)2 great concept but frankly i dont want to accualy work in a game to make enuff money to stay in a hotel
boogerman for the genisses funny concetp increddibly to hard tho

Kadath 05-23-2003 06:20 AM

I'd go recent too, but ImDrFreak hit the nail right on the head. Impossible Creatures was the most disappointing game ever, and Ruins of Myth Drannor...oof. Way to skullfuck a franchise, guys. Never played Morrowind, myself, but that was just because my best friend was really into Daggerfall(the original in the series) and it was the buggiest game ever created. Speaking of which, you all have missed the worst PC game in history...Battlecruiser3000! The various reviews of this game are some of the funniest reading around.

Janki 05-23-2003 07:49 AM

Sheep for the PS 1 was a bad version of lemmings...

Can't think of others really. I just shut them out...

manalone 05-23-2003 12:31 PM

1) Wu-tang taste the pain
2) C&C:Tiberian Sun (for being shitty and a huge disappointment)
And who could forget...
Daikatana

Dyke-katana was the worst game of all.

Rise of the robots has got to be the worst fighting game ever.

charlesesl 05-23-2003 09:49 PM

u guys r gonna hate me for this, but here s my list

Diablo 2 --- what a stupid game for intillectual challenged simpltons. all u ever do in this game is hack ur enemy to death. There s no stratgy, not character development (choosing one skill each time u level up does not count as character development) and the game s horroubly unbalanced, who the hell and beat a high leveled amazon.

Neverwinter Night --- Same as diablo with slightly more tactics. Horrouble graphics and highly repetive. I still cant figer out why i beat the single player campain in my summer break.

Domination --- most of u probly never heard of this game. It a C&C clone with a horrouble resource model. The "men" regenerate too damn slow and a tank requirs 25 of these things.

RedCometChar 05-23-2003 10:20 PM

Spider-Man & the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge- I bought this one before renting it, on character appeal. It was so not what I was hoping for.

Shaq-Fu - Roger that. The special moves usually didn't work, and the characters were tiny. Plus, I think there were only seven to choose from, and you could only be Shaq in one player mode.

Superman 64- Roger that again. When I first played this, I'd already heard all the bad reviews. Still, I went into it with an open mind, and when I switched it on, I said, "These graphics are fairly good- everyone must be overreacting." And I pressed forward on the stick to make him fly, and instead he leaned over and looked at the ground, and I said, "Ohhhh. That's why." It only went downhill from there.

And TMNT games rule! 'Cept maybe the first one on NES...

KillerYoda 05-24-2003 12:52 AM

In no order:

Primal Rage - SNES
Friday the 13th - NES
Final Fantasy X - PS2

(hides behind the good ol' flame-proof wall for the FFX opinion)

Mr.Deflok 05-24-2003 01:00 AM

FFX was too boring for me too.

Dunno if they're the worst games I've played but Enter the Matrix, MGS2 and X2:Wolverine's Revenge sucked monkey balls through a straw.

89transam 05-24-2003 01:39 PM

Ill say that ff8 was pretty terrible. I mean espically because ff7 owned so much.

And yes primal rage...ouch

For The Xbox:
Max Payne (that dream sequence where you follow the little red line: I actually took the game from the machine and started stomping on it in all of my fervorish glee)
Project Gotham Racing: Realistic racing? Sure. You just keep on thinking that
Kabuki Warriors. A game without a single redeemable point. Not one

Reacharound 05-29-2003 11:11 AM

Some of these old games sucked but I still played them when they were on Sega Channel, so I cant complain.

Yeah for sure Pool of Radiance sucked and Morrowind, sold those back soon after I bought them. So much hope for the PC RPG market all gone.

I also hated Neverwinter Nights, I was hopeing this would be a great game looking forward to it for years..sold it back

Ultima 9, did anyone like this?
Did anyone have a computer that could play this at the time? First and last time I preorder from EB

Now I just play console RPGs, and MMORPGs for computer, doubt I'll ever

mykockle 05-29-2003 12:00 PM

Azurik was terrible. xbox
Spawn: In the Demon's Hand DC
and
7th Saga SNES

Gahh... and these were the first 3 that came to mind..... My list would be huge.

3leggedfrog 05-29-2003 12:08 PM

hey got a new one

Risk for the playstation.

MaiNeR 06-01-2003 10:52 AM

how can you hate sega games?
the genesis ruled

Jared Jones 10-10-2004 03:47 PM

man, FFX was great! well i loved it at least being a fan of the FF series. Cant say what the worst three games are, about 100 come to mind when i think about it. Sega rules also. Mutant League football, Phantasy Star series, Toe Jam and Earl?? Great games

Bim 10-10-2004 05:21 PM

Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City, Crappy side scroller, using basketballs as weapons. Powering them up by dunking the ball or somethign like that.

Superman 64, I still rember the comerical claiming "YOU. . . ARE. . . SUPERMAN!" pfft, when was the last time Superman had to fly through a bunch of rings.

Sonic 3D Blast, that set camera 3 quarters view was awful for a sonic game.

Irishsean 10-10-2004 05:33 PM

1. Myst
2. Morrowind
3. Midnight Club 2

I kinda take pride in the fact that the 3 games I hated most are almost universally loved.

BigJ11 10-10-2004 06:16 PM

Star Wars Galaxies started to be good, but was over hyped and over bugged.

Next i have to say City of Heroes, again cool at first, but boring doing the same crap over and over.

Last I haev to say Crash Bandacoot. Great for little kids, but it came free when you bought the system and for those of that were broke at that point, it was all you had!

jonjon42 10-10-2004 06:44 PM

C&C:Tiberian Sun just for sucking so much
C&C: Generals for stopping the promise new beginnings of Red Alert 2
FF7 boring...

Scarface2436 10-10-2004 06:58 PM

duck hunt, superman 64 & highheat baseball 2001

shadowalker 10-10-2004 07:27 PM

E.T. for the atari

Superman 64 for the n64

and aquaman for the xbox,

These are the 3 WORSE games ever produced.

t3m3st 10-10-2004 08:07 PM

War Gods
StarCraft for N64 (what the HELL were they thinkinh!?!?)
Rogue Squadron 3... Robotron with starwars characters

heccubusiv 10-10-2004 09:23 PM

any wrestling game with combos instead of grapling, Stock Market Mania(not sure if that was the title) for NES, Bubble Ghost for the game boy

Shizukana 10-10-2004 09:44 PM

Seriously... where are Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Total Recall, and Die Hard in these lists? Or maybe the Avoid the Noid game? How about the game with the old Spot mascot from 7-Up?

NWN?? FFX? Max Payne? WTF! You folks clearly need to play more crappy games from the late 80's/early 90's.

I dont believe someone said C&C Generals, it beats red alert 2 into the ground. I must've played it every day since it was released.

Mall Tycoon for the PC
ATV Mudracer, you'll be sickened that this game was released in 2004.
aaaaand... erm... I think it'll have to be Rise of the Robots for all the hype it got, only to be the lamest fighter ever.

Bout time someone recognized the Phantasy Star and Shining Force series. How about Warsong, great game for genesis.

Rise of the robots - I had totally forgot about that. One of my friends brought it and he was so pissed off at wasting so much money.
Unreal 2 - so disappointing considering the first one was brilliant
John Deere: American Farmer - never played this so a bit hypocritical but with a name like that it has got to suck !

Yeah, my vote is for all the full motion video games like that. There was a slew of them that came out all at once. Except the Tex Murphy detective ones. Under a Killing Moon rocked.

Justsomeguy 10-11-2004 01:43 PM

The worst games definitely came from the sega cd. Double Switch, that football classic(49ers and cowboys), Sewer shark, Night trap. All seemed interesting at first, but damn were they bad. Third World War was great, but I can only recall 2-3 even decent games for that system.

Beyond the Beyond for the Playstation was bad too! Every two steps, it was another random battle.

SteelGlider 10-11-2004 01:53 PM

This is tough, as there was lots of crap for mega popular systems like Atari 2600 and C-64. ET, Swordquest: Earthworld, and Bomber Attack (a little known game by Avalon Hill for the C-64) are some of the worst ones I remember off the top of my head.

And I agree, the movie games on the Sega CD were total crap. Loadstar: legend of Tully something or other was one of the worst. Sewer Shark, Ground Zero Texas and those awful make your own video atrocities are up there too. Some of those turds can't even be considered games.

NavySEAL 10-11-2004 03:53 PM

E.T.! http://www.seanbaby.com/nes/egm/01b.gif

alansmithee 10-11-2004 06:13 PM

Worst games are ET for atari and anything on the atari jaguar. And I don't understand all the Morrowwind hate. That is probably one of the BEST comp/x-box games ever. I can understand not enjoying it, or even liking it, but only people with 5 second attention spans would consider it one of the worst ever.

shakran 10-11-2004 06:23 PM

Another vote for ET here. Population: Tire is more entertaining ;)

my other two are Police Quest: SWAT and The Sims. The first was a horrible mishmash of crap that had almost no plot. The second is just the electronic version of playing with dolls ;)

The three worst

Mine would have to be...

Return Fire 2: The origional Return Fire was awesome. I played that for 20 hours straight with my brother. Return Fire 2 they changed to much stuff, and they turned it into a 3d game. Ran very bad on even the latest hardware.

Independence war 2: pretty much the same thing as return fire 2.

Everquest: Because it ruined my life.

rascalus 10-13-2004 01:58 PM

thank god someone added in shaq fu.

my top (or bottom) three include E.T. for Atari, Corridor 7 and Solstice of NES.

Any movie license for the NES.
Total Recall comes to mind.
Arnie + video games = usually crap.

Oh yeah, ET for the Atari 2600...apparently it was so bad they dug a big hole in New Mexico or somewhere and buried a while lot of the carts. I've never played it though, I'll have to get the ROM one day :) Any here who mentioned it actually play much of it?

Doc4 10-18-2004 08:19 AM

As the title is "top three worst games ever" and not "top three games I just bought and quickly hated", I would have to agree with several posters and add 1 new one...

1) E.T.
2) Superman 64
3) Tresspasser (PC) <---- No one has mentioned this?!?!

Tresspasser was an overly-hyped game set in Jurrasic Park made around 1998. It touted the use of physics as a integral part of its gameplay (a possible first) with realistic dinosaur behaviors modeled (hunting, resting, etc).

It had two hollywood actors handling the voice work (also a relatively new idea at the time) Richard Attenborough & Minnie Driver.

The game essentially boiled down to you spending tens of minutes trying to stack small crates with a wacked out arm that moved in impossible ways. After stacking crates you could then jump up to a new area or similar sillyness. Oh and the dinosaurs were simply terrible.

Here's a PREVIEW!

fordluvr 10-19-2004 05:27 PM

I'm really dating myself here, but:

1) As mentioned by others here, "ET" for the Atari 2600. This is the undisputed grandfather of high-dollar licensing gone horribly awry. I think I just took mine apart with a hammer to test my theory that there was actual, bonafide shit inside the casing.

2) "Wall Street Kid" for the NES. This bottom feeder was basically a text-based "simulation" of being a stock broker. The real kicker is that your goal is to make a lot of money so you can buy things for your girlfriend and impress her father. Everyhing about this game is just wrong.

3) "Technocop" for the Sega Genesis. I could go on and on about this horrible piece of crap, but it's claim to fame is that it was the first console game to ever warrant a parental warning. The issue that parents had was that when you shot a bad guy, he basically disintegrated but did not disappear. Instead, he collapsed into a big red splotch on the floor but the head stayed intact. I am ashamed to this day that I ever owned this bucket o' chum.

I wonder what those parents think of GTA3 or Leisure Suit Larry?

Pheer 10-19-2004 08:54 PM

they basically keep the same character set, same menus, same battle system, and crap it up big time.
In every Final Fantasy game, you can always tell when you're going to move into a part of the map with
harder enemies (which aren't all that much tougher,) well, not on FF2, and the guys are tough as ass when
you go into another area on the world map. Although, I am going to get the ROM again and see if it gets
better.

Jeez, some of you people don't have the slightest clue to what a bad game is. Morrowind? Diablo 2? NWN? Sure, you may not like them as much as other people, but they certainly aren't the worst games ever made. Paintbrawl, Skydive!, and Rodeo are a million times worse than those games. don't rate a game that was dissapointing as the worst one ever. That's like saying I like Halo better than Half-life, therefor Halflife is a crappy game. Sorry about this rant, but for the most part, these lists are bullshiat. I agree with those saying Superman 64 was bad. what were they thinking?

3 worst games ever? Hell, I can name three games all in the same series that make me want to projectile vomit.

FFXI. 2 hours to install, 3 hours to patch, then my friends tell me they can't afford a "world pass" so I'll have to play on a different server from ALL OF MY FRIENDS (launch day). 4 hours to uninstall, ten seconds to snap the Play CD in half.

FFX-2. Yuna's Slumber Party, Barbie Fantasy, whatever you want to call it. Change jobs by changing your outfit! This game was created for that overweight guy who wears Sailor Moon costumes to anime conventions. You all know the one.

FF8. Otherwise known as "rubber band combat," where you'd get into a fight with a monster, see that it has a spell you don't know, and rubber band the controller down to Draw 99 times. FF8 was a great game to have on in the background when you're playing a real game. "Oops I'm full, slash slash next combat, tape that sucker down again and afk."
