Got bored with it right away, returned the game the day I bought it. Mortal Kombat is supposed to be about special moves, pitting characters against each other, move priority, and gruesome finishers. They've turned it into a 3-D Tekken wanna-be with unimpressive specials and yawner fatalities. Konquest Mode is the game's way of making you play for hours using a character with absolutely no interesting features, and no special moves whatsoever. Add to that the fact that you can't play any of the interesting characters in Arcade mode (except, I guess, Sub-Zero and Scorpion) without spending three weeks unlocking them in silly Konquest mode, and you have a return-worthy title.

"MK: Deception stays true to its fighting core" was the advertising. No, MK turned into Sub-Zero the Hedgehog, a Koin-Kollecting platformer interrupted by some brief and uninspired fighting. Not what you wanted to hear, but certainly needed saying. |

I played it, (unlocked all puzzle fighters, jade, noob/smoke, and one other) and enjoyed the fighting, puzzle kombat, and even the chess one is okay. I agree with echodork in that konquest sucks. Even the konquest in deadly alliance was much better, as you could choose a character to train with, learn the moves, get koins.. then fight. Has anyone played DA and found Kung Lao to be ridiculously powerful?

Quite a lame game, gets extremely boring, VERY fast. It just feels like a generic 3D fighter, well, that's what it is.
