Just so you all know, I have my XBOX on and paused until I figure out how to save this friggin' thing. If I press start, it only allows me to leave the game or resume game. If I choose to leave the game, it says the data will be lost. If I go into the game menu, all of the options are in-game related, and not for managing actual save files or anything like that.

I heard that was the scariest game of all time. Can't help ya with saving though. I read the review and it didn't mention saving at all. There's probably a checkpoint somewhere if you can't find it in the menus.

how far are you in the game? you might come to a save point in the game pretty soon. i played this a while ago, but i don't remember what the save system was like off the top of my head. it was too freaking scary for me. i really didn't enjoy playing it on my own. you might check out gamefaqs.com and see if they have any info there.

I'm still towards the beginning, but I've gotten a few hours of play in. If there are save points, I would've found 'em by now. Spoiler: I'm up to the part where your friend/sister enters that big gate, and then you get attacked by the "seeker" and "pole bearer" ghosts. I have it paused right at that gate.

So much for me not being able to save; I picked it back up today and it froze on me after 20 minutes of gameplay.

Dodgy version

Back to the store you go. Try swapping for Silent Hill 4, something more reliable

degrawj - Thanks! I'd really appreciate it! I bet it's something stupid that I'm just overlooking.

Rubenbaraja - It's on my harddrive, so unless I swap my entire harddrive... :-p

Sheeeit. It's like Resident Evil. You have to get the typewriter ribbons, and find a typewriter. What the fuck? I'd rather just go PAUSE>SAVE.

I haven't found any typewriter ribbons nor typewriters while playing this game.

Man why is everyone too scared to play this game!?!? I really need to know how to save. I haven't come across any typewriters, and all the lanterns I've come across are just for show...at least I think.

Naw, i didn't mean it was exactly like RE. It's just that kind of game, where you have to find a save point, and it's not as convient as just pausing and saving.

The red lanterns are save points. They have a dim glow to them. Or, if you look at the map, the red crimson butterflies are save points.

Now that I can finally save my game (completely thanks to you guys), I can actually enjoy how great this game is. I haven't been scared by a game since the first time I played Silent Hill. This game is SCARY! And it's not like a "Oh crap! This game is too scary I don't wanna play it!" scary. It's like, "Hell yeah! This game is fuckin' SCARY, man! I'm lovin' it!"

Spoiler: The "girl in hiding" ghost that comes out of that box almost had me shitting myself. First off, she looks like the girl from The Ring, and when I was taking pictures of her, the shots minimally affected her life bar! I was like "Oh shit I'm gonna diiieee!"

The one thing I don't like about this game is the fact that you have to wait until the ghosts get close to take their picture. Yes, that makes the game even scarier, but it also makes it annoying when you have a ghost clear in your sight, and you can't take it's picture because it's not close enough.
