I just upgraded to the patch last night. I didn't like the new UI they provided so I went and updated my Gypsy and it works like a charm. It's got everything I need without have all the extras that I don't want in something large like Cosmos. So far no problems at all for me. Oh and I'm a 20 undead mage on Elune. Used to be a 27 NE rogue.

Why ditch the NE?

Bonesaw 03-24-2005 08:41 AM

Well I never played with Cosmo and I have to say that for me the new additions are just what I needed. 50k away from level 40 but only 13g. Yikes.

Few reasons. The main reason I picked a rogue was because that's what I was when I played EQ and I really enjoyed it. Now, I really did enjoy the WoW rogue, but I felt they were a bit too powerful solo PvE and 1v1 PvP. There were a MILLION rogues out there too. Also the fact that they weren't very desirable in raids was a big thing for me.

I really like the versatility of the mage. The CC, the AE, the huge burst dmg, the control. Definitely more challenging than I found the rogue to be. Plus I'd never successfully played a caster to high level in a MMORPG, so I thought I'd give it a try. Switched from Alliance to Horde because of friends, I like the evil side better, and there are WAY less Horde on my server, we are outnumbered 3 - 5 : 1. Plus undead have an awesome racial ability (the break fear/sleep/charm resist).

Been having a blast since the switch. I do miss having weapons and armor though. So I think when I hit the 50's I'll make a Horde warrior alt.

Now I just need to get my undead warhorse and I'll be all set :D

OK, question regarding the new action toolbars:

Is there a way to quickly access them without actually having to click? You access your main one obviously with just a press of 1 through =, but... is there a way to quickly tag something on the bar ABOVE it, or on the bar above/right?

I love the fact they finally added more but... IMO, makes it kinda pointless if you don't have a method to quickly access what ya need.

Lasereth 03-24-2005 08:39 PM

I've been playing WoW for a solid year through Closed Beta and I've never used the shortcut keys. I've played both melee and casters to a high level and never had the need for one. I don't think there's a hotkey for the new UI bar yet but it's certainly not pointless. I do know some people who use ONLY the keyboard (like my brother) so I know what you're talking about.

Frosstbyte 03-27-2005 11:23 PM

You know, this is probably a miserably stupid question, but I'm dumb like that sometimes, so I'll ask it anyway. When I take screenshots, they get saved as TGA Files. Now, what the hell is a TGA file, what do I open it with and how do I do something meaningful with it? I've got some of what I think are decent shots, but I can't use them because this isn't an extension I'm familiar with. Thanks for the help.

[Edit] Nevermind. Did some digging on the worldofwarcraft.com website and found what I needed.

You can bind them under the options menu. Go to Key Bindings. Then you can bind keys to your second action bars, or your right action bars.

I had to reinstall WoW last night... boy that sucked... about 2 hours to install and patch before I was able to get some Scarlet Monastery time in.

asshopo 03-29-2005 08:54 AM

I've about had it with WoW. I only get to play during prime time usually due to work and family stuff. Problem is, the auth server is down half the time, or laggy as hell. Then when I DO log in, the server is so busy that there is either 1-2 second lag. If those aren't the issues Im having, its usually due to dying and not getting my corpse icon on the map so I cant rez. Its been like this for over a week now. My server is not on the transfer list and Ill be damned if I will put the time into a char on another server only to have that one get busy.

Zul'Jin here. Alot of times I get disconnected within 30 seconds of logging in. Then I log in a second time and it's fine, granted the it doesnt get stuck at authentication check.

Ya I hate it when it locks up...When I first started I was on a different server for like 30 mins and the lagnever dropped below 1000ms so i quit and found a low server and it seems to be good so far.

liquidlight 03-29-2005 10:39 AM

Anybody else on TFP play on the Terenas server? I haven't had much game time in the last couple of weeks, so give me a reason to get off of my butt!

Drider_it 03-29-2005 03:14 PM

by the way the ctmod i posted.. it has a drop down window of all instances cept for diremaul that will come soon. they are basically chopped from the mini map hehe but they are all there and labeled to where you need to go.

bank mod.. see everything in your bank and the bags on all your characters.. (have to be in the bank for each one to load)

loot mod.. go in the ah and upload takes a bit but.. you can see the price on everything currently there that way you know if that green or blue is worth anything.

my new mage armor pwns with my frost/arc spells i tick about +56 mana now thats almost 2.5% a tick hehe

mass mail is a life saver.. seeing how my junk pally is 300 mining and skinning and i send it all to my rogue and dwarf (leatherworking and engineering hehe)

I am a wee bit confused. I just tried to log on and it said my server was down for maintence (Zul'jin). I then logged back in to play on alt on Gorefiend and I downloaded the patch from a few days ago again. Granted, it said version 2 but I am still unable to play. I tried the official site but its either down or its getting a butt load of traffic. This happen to anyone else or have any hard info on whats going on? Thanks

All of the servers went down today for scheduled maintenance. Most were supposed to be up at 2 PM EST and some were supposed to be down until 5 PM EST for "extended" maintenance. To my utter horror (and thousands of others) the servers were not brought back up at their planned times. It was around 5 PM before ANY servers were brought back up and the extended servers are still down at 8 PM. My GF was sick today and didn't go to work so that left us an ENTIRE day to play WoW...and the servers have been down for 11 hours for "maintenance!"

Damn, I'm starting to sound like all the fanboys on the WoW forums. Well I truly am pissed! This is the last day of my Easter break and dammit I wanted to make it count.

All this server downtime is really starting to annoy me. I love the game, but since I don't have a lot of time to play, having the server down all the time is very discouraging. I think I need to break down and buy HL2 to fill the downtime when I want to game... Hrmmmmmm....

That's how I'm feeling, accept ditching games all togther for a bit and do something productive... like redo my website that gets visited by 4 people a week :).

The new patch introduced Quest Logs on the right side of your screen. Just shift click on a quest and it does basically the same thing as that mod. It doesn't have the whole quest log there though...you gotta shift click the quests you want manually!

Oh, and our server finally came back up. Yee-ha!!

MrFlux 03-30-2005 05:06 PM

I just got a collection of different mods....

but yeah there's MonkeyQuest, MonkeyClock, BagStatusBars, BuffTimers (shows seconds as well as minutes remaining), and Atlas, among others.

Reading the latest server notice, they're giving players a whole lvl of rested state due to all the downtime.... but they have to take the servers down to do it. Does anyone else find this humourous?

The new WoW patch shows buff timers automatically. :)

I find it humorous also. I'm betting that something else is fucked up and they're taking the servers down to fix it...and covering it up by saying that the rested EXP is being added. I'm still happy about the rested EXP though. My warrior will get to 56 in no-time with it!

Drider_it 03-30-2005 10:29 PM

oh in then interface options in the wow options there is a UI scaleing .. you can make your bars and such smaller on the screen works with wow's or anyother ui.. try it youll like it just dont set it all the way to the right unless you like to squint

3am pst all servers are getting nuked.. but everyone gets full rested exp on all characters.. better get busy real quick and burn what ya can

SitizenVZ 03-31-2005 03:02 AM

Staying current with UI mods is such a pain in the butt, I'm glad they are taking cues from the UI community and adding more functionality to the default interface.

MrFlux 03-31-2005 04:08 AM

I know it show the timers Las, but only minutes not seconds :p

Goddamn just got home from work and realised that it's 4am PST and the servers are gunna be down for another 2hours... it's 12am here, no WoW for me tonight :(

BuddyHawks 03-31-2005 11:46 AM

Sure, blizz added quest minion, but the side bars they also added cover it up....

I'm not sure theyre clever enough to have thought of that. Otherwise it seems like they would have done something like that already.
Anyways, I'm defintely happy with the bonus, they need to do it more often. I just wish that whatever bonus they gave you wasn't capped (i.e. if I already had a rest bonus of 1 level then when they added the 1.5 I'd have 2.5 instead of 1.5) since I felt I had to play a little extra last night to burn off my rest bonus (I had about a levels worth) to take full advantage of the bonus.

So I guess they gave an XP bonus today to make up for all that downtime. I managed to grind 2 levels out of it. Almost got a 3rd level out of the day, but I got bored.

almost lvl 34

Apokx 04-03-2005 10:07 PM

They gave an entire level of rested experience a bubble before 60(figures).
Have a 60 Paladin/60 Shaman now.

I hope they add "Death Knight" sometime in the future.

So this is a horribly dorky question, but my friends who played WCIII and Frozen Throne couldn't answer it and I couldn't find it on the website. Does anyone know what happened at Dalaran? There's some ruins with Alliance friendly elementals and casters and then the city is surrounded by a big glowing purple dome that I can't pass through. It doesn't really make any difference, but it seems like something that's pretty important if they bothered to go to the trouble of sealing it off and such.

MahlerIsGod 04-04-2005 08:15 PM

I am hoping someone can help me because Bliz's customer service in this matter has been terrible!!! (shocking, I know). I logged in today to find none of my channels working. I can't see what I type, I can't see what other people are saying to me and the only channel I get is World Defense. How do I turn this channel off and get back my normal channels: general, guild, etc. Any help (ANY!!!!) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

P-Naughty 04-04-2005 09:16 PM

Well, I was one of those people who criticized WoW players for being crack addicts... was. A friend of mine here got me a guest pass, and I got started Saturday. I cracked out like a som' bitch and two hobizzles. I got started at 9PM and quit at 9AM. Then I slept for three hours and away I went. My lvl 13 Nightelf Rogue is pretty nice. I'm in Drunken Superheroes with a few friends from my Uni. and Mercer Uni.

It's awesome to finally find a game that my school's network admins (I live in a dorm) haven't decided to neuter. They killed BF1942, UT2k4, and RtCW (amongst others, I'm sure) and bandwidth in general (also blocked most P2P somehow). They did so for several reasons. One being that people on the network had loads of viruses and crashed the network, even though their use policy states you MUST have an AV program and they offer you Norton for free. Second is that people felt it necessary to hook their personal servers up to the network and host online games. And last but not least, the P2P. There was a case where a student in 50 days managed to use a whopping 39 terabytes of bandwidth. Between folding@home, SETI, DC++, and Ares, he racked up some serious bandwidth. He ended up burning most of the stuff he got off DC++ to DVDs, but had several 100 DVD spindles in his room filled with movies, games, music, etc.

snowy 04-04-2005 09:20 PM

I'm a member of the Ladies of WoW community on LiveJournal, and I have to say I've noticed that most of the women on there started playing because their SO started playing. I started because my best guy friend was freaking addicted as hell. Now we're both junkies.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, I guess.

Once Kel'Thuzad was whole again, Arthas led the Scourge south to Dalaran. There the lich would obtain the powerful spellbook of Medivh, and use it to summon Archimonde back into the world. From that point on, Archimonde himself would begin the Legion's final invasion. Not even the wizards of the Kirin Tor could stop Arthas' forces from stealing Medivh's book, and soon Kel'Thuzad had all he needed to perform his spell. After ten thousand years, the mighty demon Archimonde and his host emerged once again upon the world of Azeroth.

Archimonde destroyed the city. The bubble is either to keep beings out while the Wizards rebuild, or it's to keep something inside.I dont think Blizzard has explained why exactly the bubble is there..yet

00111000 04-05-2005 11:04 AM

So I've put my account on hold for now. Generally just bored, all my friends left so I mostly solo and that does get boring real quick. Going to give it a bit and wait for battlegrounds to come out and reactivate then. I still really like the game but the lack time I have to play does not allow me to do any instances or large scale raids. We'll see when BG goes live.

He was probably seeding tons of video on bittorrent. At least with napster people would have bandwidth usages in the gigabyte range. People like that need a gang beating though, they ruin things for everyone on the university networks.

I played WCIII though awhile ago. I don't remember the lich king summoning ol archi, but if that is the case what was the reason given? I thought the lich king wanted total domination and power...why would summoning something that would destroy the world do that? Also he would basically be 2nd class to archi.

Looks like it might be time for me to replay WCIII.

meepa 04-10-2005 10:41 AM

The Lich King was still Archimonde's bitch. He had to follow is orders because he was stuck in an icecube. As a side plot, he was hoping that while going along with everything, he could find an opportunity to assert his own power and break free from Archimonde's pimpery. Enter Arthas, chaos ensues, Burning Legion gets owned, Lich King is freed from popcicle status, long live the Scourge in Northrend, etc etc.

Zeraph 04-10-2005 05:26 PM

I don't know if it would be viable with the story or not, but they should have made Arthas split off with the forsaken and lead them. I don't like sylvannas (I think her name is) the banshee queen. Its like they just made her up for the sake of having the forsaken. Weaksauce.

Arthas already is the head of the Scourge... it wouldn't make any sense for him to lead the Forsaken because they broke off from him. Although like it or not, I agree that Sylvannas was basically just a plot device to make SOME undead "independant" and thus a playable race for WoW while there could still be an ominous "bad" UD power under Arthas that will presumably play into the storyline sometime down the road or in an expansion.

I'm pretty much addicted to WoW.

I've started 5-6 different toons before settling on just 3 and I don't really concentrate on any one of them enough. I have a 38 rogue, 30 priest and a 15 hunter. It's interesting that each one is like playing a whole new game. Missions I did with the rogue require (obviously) a completely different strategy when I run them with the priest, almost making it an entirely new gaming experience.

With my beta play time and the time I've played since I purchased it (i held off a few weeks due to being jobless and figuring I better get a job before i start playing WoW) I've put more playtime into WoW than anything since Empire in the 70s. Crazy.

I have some health issues and one day a few weeks ago at work I knew I had to go to the ER pretty quickly...but I logged in and checked my auctions before I left.

Like I said, I'm pretty much addicted to WoW.

Gatal - 38 NE Rogue - Bleeding Hollow

"Ner'zhul, the Lich King, knew that his time was short. Imprisoned within the Frozen Throne, he suspected that Kil'jaeden would send his agents to destroy him. The damage caused by Illidan's spell had ruptured the Frozen Throne; thus, the Lich King was losing his power daily. Desperate to save himself, he called his greatest mortal servant to his side: the death knight Prince Arthas.

Though his powers were drained by the Lich King's weakness, Arthas had been involved in a civil war in Lordaeron. Half of the standing undead forces, led by the banshee Sylvanas Windrunner, staged a coup for control over the undead empire. Arthas, called by the Lich King, was forced to leave the Scourge in the hands of his lieutenant, Kel'Thuzad, as the war escalated throughout the Plaguelands.

Ultimately, Sylvanas and her rebel undead (known as the Forsaken) claimed the ruined capital city of Lordaeron as their own. Constructing their own bastion beneath the wrecked city, the Forsaken vowed to defeat the Scourge and drive Kel'Thuzad and his minions from the land. "

Outside of World of Warcraft the Forsaken were just like the Scourge, but somehow Sylvannas' undead aren't really undead (according to Blizzard) they're "Forsaken".Even though they are undead.

Sylvannas made sense, the new race of "Forsaken" does not. They simply altered the universe to fit their game setting.

In regards to Dalaran, the bubble may be to protect the area while the wizards rebuild it.Or it could be that Archimonde released something with the destruction of the city(you level the home of the greatest mages of the world, something is going to happen) like a creature, or possibly some kind of arcana that is harmful to the environment outside.

Flew down to Tarren Mill and there was a sea (literally a sea) of corpses stretching between Tarren Mill and Southshore.

That in Blackrock, Jaded? Looks familiar as the place my 45 hunter shouldn't have been wandering around. That's what wanderlust and a desire to explore will get you in this game.

It seems to me Blizzard really needs to hire some English majors to develop their backstories...(pick me! pick me!)

Every time I stop to read one of the books lying around I think, "Man, they need to get some real writers on this project."

Personally, I'd love to read some books set in Azeroth.

THANK YOU!!! A friend of mine mentioned there were manga out there centered around the whole World of Warcraft thing, but I had no idea there were books...hrm...much reading to be done...

Fortunately I almost immediately ran into a bunch of level 60s who were on their way to the instance. First they got a good laugh about the whole thing. Then they buffed me and sent me on my way back out the front door.

Stompy 04-14-2005 07:48 AM

I find the economy in this game humorous.

For example, herbs at the AH and cost of stacks of potions.

Wild Steelbloom goes for about 4.5g a stack. Goldthorn goes for about the same... so that's 9g. Both of these are used in Greater Defense potions, so you can make 20 pots (4 stacks of 5) for 9g.

Guess how much the stacks of pots sell for? 2g. Sooo, that's a 1g loss.

Superior Healing pots are the same way, except it's about 11g for the ingredients (7g for 20 sungrass, 4-5g for Khadgar's Wisker) and (at 2g for a stack of 5), a 4-5g loss.

Crazy...

I mean, alchemy probably isn't THE moneymaker as opposed to herbalism, but it's still strange how prices are set. Granted, you can get healing/mana pots as drops, but I have NEVER received a defense/agility or other pot for a drop, so it's not like there is a common alternate source for them.

I agree with you on this. I'm not an alchy/herbalist myself but i rely HEAVILY on pots when I PvP. Fortunately, I'm part of a great guild so I get the pots for free anyway.

Just hit 40 with my NE Druid. I think I am gonna slow down now. This game has been a fucking leech on me. I'm supposed to be done tomorrow on a project I've been working on for 2 weeks. I haven't written a line of code.

Just a word of warning to anyone who would rather telecommute than go in to the office... I've been living that way for a while and it really aint all that satisfying.

bookerV 04-15-2005 06:07 AM

Well my best in-game friend and his wife switched servers on me to go join his old guild from another game. It definitely sucks bigtime. However as a parting gift he left me an epic item to sell, a blue item to sell, a couple of traveller packs, and gave me a bunch of cash. So now at lvl 23 I have my mount in the bank, and 100 G leftover on me after upgrading a bunch of stuff. It's nice to have my mount already taken care of, and have all this cash on me. But I would definitely give it up to have my buddy back. Now I just have to lvl like mad so I can actually use my mount!

That does suck, my online buddy is a lot of help but is falling behind in lvls to me, im now a 33 and he is 26 but still like to help him out. I good way to lvl up is just go quest crazy and killing lvl beast that are the same lvl as you are, if your a hunter that is easier to do. And solo the quests only if they are yellow, green or gray.

Even though you get the pots for free, comments like that have always confused me, or Ive also heard "I save pots for when they matter, like PvP." Which doesnt make sense to me since (mind you this is before PvP rewards) there is no penalty for dieing in PvP...so you just spent money to "win" in PvP...who really lost something tangible here?

Ooo. Yes, I've read all the actual books, not the manga(s) so I'm not sure about those, but I LOVED all of the books, especially The Well of Eternity and The Demon Soul, loved em, they're both significantly longer than any of they others, and they have a great plot, great characters, and in my opinion, great writing. I HIGHLY recommend all of these for anyone who enjoys the Warcraft lore.

P-Naughty 04-16-2005 02:37 PM

Not to switch the topic or anything, but I'm interested in knowing what all servers you guys play on.

I'm on Sargeras and play as Hunley, a lvl 25 NE Rogue. I'm currently a member of Drunken Superheroes, but the guild has been falling to pieces after about 20 lvl 60s up and left. I switched with them because they were my rl friends and joined Imperial Order, but the grass wasn't greener on the other side for this noob.

Razerwind, 57.5 NE Warrior
Lasereth, 48.5 NE Priest

Both on Bleeding Hollow!

Seething 04-16-2005 07:29 PM

Gehenna, 32 Orc Warlock
Far, 38 Undead Warrior
Both on Lightning's Blade.

I have a 43 undead rogue on Bleeding Hollow still, but I have my issues with that, so I haven't played him in about 3 months.

Anyone playing WoW on Lightning's Blade?

I got sucked in to play a bit as kind of a time waster when my friends aren't playing CoH. Its not that bad, not something I would normally play, but a day into it and its still ok. I have a level 16 druid on Alliance under the name "Gyre" if anyone wants to give me a shout.

Seething 04-17-2005 10:26 AM

I play on Lightning's Blade, but the only way I could give you a shout is if it was after I killed you. I play Far, undead warrior level 38.

On a side note...why do so many of you play alliance? I don't get it...I'm a hordie fo' life!

Halx 04-17-2005 10:41 AM

I know myself (Halarkin), Buddah, Atomic Pinkie (Pazuit), Cynthetiq and Skogafoss are on Silvermoon

Anyone wanna join the fun?

MrFlux 04-17-2005 11:28 AM

lvl40 Night Elf Hunter on Cenarius.

My gf has just bought a good computer so we can play together, so I'll probably be switching to a server where I know some people irl and starting a new char when she gets it.

Zeraph 04-17-2005 01:22 PM

Lvl 50 (nearly 51) NE Rogue on Bleeding Hollow. Though I think I'll be taking a long break at least until BGs comes out since GWs is nearly out, and CoV for CoH.

I wish I went with a different race though, Undead being the best overall (WoTF), but for alliance it'd have to be gnome for the most powerful (escape artist) with human and dwarf tied for 3rd. Somewhat ironically, I originally went with NE for the slight passive bonus that shadowmeld gives to stealth, but it matters so little I now don't care. Though to be fair wisp form is actually pretty nice on a PvP realm, saves a lot of time in the long run.

Then again theyre supposedely buffing other racial abilities to WoTF's level.

Um personal pride? I pride myself on the fact that I am a decent PvP'er. Furthermore, my server is very low pop, meaning that everyone knows everyone so if you do well in PvP people tend to remember that which is nice. As far as spending money goes, what else are you going to spend it on? It's not like it's difficult to get money in WoW. I can honestly say that it is much more satisfying going up against 2-3 horde and winning than completing UBRS for the 1800th time.

Ok, got a NE Rogue started on Silvermoon, only could play an hour or two tonite, so he's still gimpy. I'll get him up in the next day or so.

Look for "Kec"!

Drider_it 04-18-2005 03:02 AM

k the full rested exp is a joke. granted for non 60's its great but what about lvl 60 characters?

btw my mage Tenere on lothar was awarded 25g for his outstanding efforts in reporting bugs in the game. my best ones so far was reporting that on horde side the warlock quest to get the succubi was misleading in that the quest stated that you had to go to out side the city in durator at the tower(meaning the blimp tower) which in fact was the bird tower inside the city heh..

but in all ive reported over 50 gaming issues. current one is the warping of monsters using frost spells. my frost nova and frost bite is causing monsters to seemingly warp right to you when it breaks the traps. this is a false world placement. they are still where they broke the trap moving at you in a "slowed" state. took a bit to get used to.. i would cone of cold then flame blast just to realize that my coc was missing everytime. when the critter does die the server puts it back to its actual placement.

Alveise, 55 NE Priest on Hyjal server.

Fun fun fun... I had my friend change my password so I wouldn't be tempted to play while I was supposed to be studying for my finals.. but I ended up using the password recovery after about a week and a half to get my password back so i could get my fix. No... discipline..

Nice to see that also on this board WOW has made his introduction.
For a whole month I haven't been able to understand why the biggest part of my friends was so addicted to the game. Untill I was at a friends home who was palying at that moment. Just when he was in the middle of some quest he remembered that his food was still in the oven. So he ran back to the kitchen ordenning me to save his troll (as he wasn't near a road). Without really knowing what to do I managed to keep his char alive and even kill some thornweavers  untill he got back. So this was how it all began for me. Now I'm an even bigger addict as they are. My gf nick has even changed to Why O Why

Im on Windrunner with:

lvl 33 NE Priest - Paintrain
lvl 19 Human Mage - Lucildence
lvl 19 Dewarf Hunter - Finhe
lvl 8 Human Rouge - Averdrigit

might start up another NE char sometime after they are all well over lvl 20 :D

Hah, I've found many ways to make money. I don't think other methods have been divulged in this thread yet, but...

In Orgrimmar, there's an alchemy merchant that sells a Superior Healing Pot recipe for 1.3 gold. You can EASILY sell it at the AH (right up the street, haha) for twice that. Same applies for pretty much every other higher level recipe. Buy out the vendor, jack up the price at the AH.

If you have enough money, buy out ALL stacks of cheap herbs at the AH and resell for a higher amount. There's been stacks of kingsblood on my server from someone who sells for 19s. They normally go for 60-80s. If you have enough gold (say, around 10g) you could buy out ALL the stacks and completely dictate their new prices. It may take a while to sell sometimes, but you make a killing and don't really have to do much for it. Sometimes someone will try to undercut you by 10-15s on an item, so simply buy it out and resell it - control the prices!

Another thing you can do is buy out common rare items (like Gem Studded Belt that sells for 3-4g) and raise the price by 1 or 2g. Most people that buy these low level rare items are those who have higher lvl chars that just send money to other chars they are leveling up ... and won't really care about paying a bit more ;)

So far the only potion I've come across that you can make pure profit on is greater healing pots. A stack of kingsblood and a stack of liferoot will run you about 1.3 - 1.6 g (sometimes very cheap like mentioned above). 4 stacks of 5 pots @ 80s each will get ya 3.2g - and they sell quite fast. The only downtime is when you purchase up all the herbs and need to wait until someone puts more up.

It's trivial income, but income none the less, especially for lower level chars that have a hard time saving up. Best part is you really don't have to work for any of it :)

Zeraph 04-18-2005 08:30 PM

Watch, now they'll nerf it within the next patch or two.

Any thoughts on that lasereth? Think it needs a nerf? I think something needs to be done, not neccessarily a nerf though, since that's head and shoulders above everything else, even most purples and especially the other blacksmithing lvl 300 weapons.

alansmithee 04-18-2005 09:01 PM

No way the Reaper needs a nerf. For what it takes to make, you could buy most purples. 20 arcanite bars is an insane amount.

Lasereth 04-19-2005 04:55 AM

Nah, it's not as good as everyone says. A Dreadforge Retaliator or Blackhand Doomsaw will get ya close to this DPS. Hell, my old Kang the Decapitator hit for 75% as hard and it was an epic level 44 axe. Is it a badass weapon? Yes. Does it hit hard and create a lot of rage? Yep! Is it the coolest looking weapon in the game? Yeah. It's certainly not overpowered though.
