Half Life 2 Help Thread
 

I can't be the only one stuck on a part in Half Life (at least I hope not) so I thought I would start this thread. My problem: I just got inside the citadel and I have no idea how to proceed. This pics, I hope, provide a better a description of my current surroundings:

I don't see any ladders or anyplace to drop down to so I am hoping that someone might help me figure out where to go. Much appreciated. Thanks

Hey mahler, I am somewhere behind you. The second time you set up the turrets, how the hell do you survive that section? The soldiers keep knocking them over and I can't seem to set them up without getting shot to death.

Pocon, if you are where I think you are, I have a VERY easy solution.

There should be a gate that is closed; a first aid station and HEV suit charger are right behind it. That's where you have to go once you finish defending yourself. Above that gate should be a second floor with a railing. Use the gravity gun to stack boxes so you can climb up there. After stacking all the boxes, go and set up all the turrets right by the boxes. When you're up there, try to gravity pull a turret and place it on the balcony. Soldiers can not get up there.

pocon1: Spoiler: took me ages to beat that part, I set up the turrents in the health corridor and hid in one of the compartments with a shotgun, and picked off any combine that got too close. The way to pick up the sentry guns quickly is to move the mouse up quickly when you pick them up to get them upright.

Mahlersgod:Spoiler: you need to get into one of those cage things moving around (by pressing 'e'), one on the far side of the bridge in picture 2, you'll see why if you get into one on the near side (try it out!).

Hey, themagic, you suggestion worked great. I had to backtrack a couple of saves, but I was able to stack the boxes and then go get the turrets which activated the guards. I jsut put the turrets up with me by throwing them up into the second floor with the gravity gun.

that was what I did..hehe. I dont think there is any other way .. lol

The Magic, great suggestion. I got through it a different way, but your idea shows some nice creative thinking.

That's one of the things I love about this game, creative ideas can pay off. :D
