Lucky you. Mine is slowing all the way down to 30kbs p/s. It started out at 70 kbs too

it's kinda setup like the latest ssx game you can free roam and the tasks are marked on the map if it's a race or drift challenge ...

Thanks, going to download now! I'm just bored, so I just feel like downloading something.

Destrox 10-26-2004 07:55 PM

holding steady around 180 kB/s

Hope this game has less "scripted" events as #1 did, that was its only drawback.

Church 10-27-2004 10:01 AM

Honestly, I think this is a really shitty demo. It's boring, the handling sucks, and the cars are ugly. I'm sure the final product will be better, but damn, this was garbage.

1slOwCD8 10-27-2004 12:04 PM

Anybody know when the game is actually gonna come out, for PS2? I can't wait, hopefully within the next couple of weeks.

Irishsean 10-27-2004 12:57 PM

Is this the same demo thats been out for quite a while for PS2? The one that came on the burnout 3 disc?

Believe it would be Nov. 15th for Xbox and Ps2 versions.

jvwgtr 10-28-2004 02:28 AM

Thanks for the heads up! I can't wait to check this out.

Scorps 10-28-2004 08:44 AM

I wholeheartedly agree, the demo for the first game was wicked awesome and made me excited for the new game. This one just made me sad and made me wish that the actual game will be a lot better than this demo.

Scorps 10-29-2004 10:34 AM

I liked it, I find it hrd to handle the car in the drifting, but I'm also using a wheel and pedals, I was a drift king on NFSU1(it said it on the screen, but I also got over 200,000 points on one drift;)) Now I can't keep it off the gaurdrail. Its also hard when your trying not to hit the on coming traffic!

enderfax 10-30-2004 12:36 AM

Yah, drift was pretty rough the first 2-3 times, but you get used to it. Don't call it shit because they made it a little harder. Drift mode in NFSU was wayyyy too easy. A 5 year old could beat the hardest drift course. The handling seems the same as in the first game to me. I use the E-brake in this game to help me get around corners, in the first one the E-brake was worthless. It just sent your car out of control. This game sounds 100x better then the first one. You can really hear that V6 in the 350Z pumping, and each of the four cars they have to try sound different which leads me to believe all the different exhaust mods will change the tone and pitch of your exhaust note. That's pretty cool. I really like the open ended-ness and having to actually drive to the shops. I wish they would've had some customizing options to play with in the demo, but I understand they're trying to keep things for release.

Overall it's a HUGE improvement. If you think this demo isn't better then the first one, may I ask why? Not only do you get to do a lot more then the NFSU demo, but the graphics are better, the sound is better, the way you obtain NOS is really cool, and the open ended nature really makes it rule. Plus, no more "level 1, 2, 3" upgrades. It's supposed to be a lot more like GT, but of course if you're going to hold it up against GT, you're gonna be let down.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it and loved the demo.

silent_jay 10-30-2004 08:00 AM

I just started downloading it after reading this thread I figured I might as well check it out. It will be in from Filefront in 35 minutes. Not bad getting 160kb/s

I noticed that different sound for every car also I personally like the drak red car! And It would have been nice to give us a little something for the demo!

Rdr4evr 10-30-2004 06:11 PM

I too am downloading it out of strict boredom. I'm getting a decent 157kb/sec and about 40 min to go. I'm sure it will keep me entertained for a good 10 minutes, that seems to be my attention span limit for all game demos.

Scorps 10-30-2004 06:12 PM

I just finished playing it for liek the 4th time..it gets boring after a little while, But the whole game will be way better then being stuck in one town!

Krycheck 10-30-2004 08:51 PM

Well I can't play it cause it looks like my windshield has limo tint or something. But I can see thru my rearview mirror

tooblekane 10-30-2004 09:05 PM

i love fileplanet. i got in like 7 minutes. too bad it kinda sucks :) i think the full game will be more enjoyable though

silent_jay 10-31-2004 01:21 PM

I played it for all of a quarter of a lap, uninstalled it, and now I want my time back, not a fan of this demo at all.

Krycheck 10-31-2004 03:25 PM

Well I fixed my problem by installing the lastest Catalyst drivers. The free roam mode is a nice addition. Lots of fun with that. Graphics are sweet as well. Even tho it's not as fun without a hand controller it was enjoyable :) I'll most likely pick up the Xbox version.

Redjake 10-31-2004 03:43 PM

damn guys, this demo is not THAT bad.......

I like it. My only complaint is that the drag mode isn't there (maybe you unlock it later in the demo?)

The graphics fucking rule. The handling fucking rules. I don't see what people don't like about it! All in all, it's very similar to the first game. And everyone loved the first game. I might be purchasing this one as well.........

RubenBaraja 11-02-2004 02:47 PM

Latest Catalyst drivers are the key to getting this to work. Or the Omegas of course.

Still wont work on my PS2 - USB pad though

sixate 11-02-2004 02:51 PM

I can't believe people don't like it.
It is just a demo people. Don't expect to get an orgasm over a damn demo.
I think the game is gonna be great, and it'll be one of 2 games, the other being HL2, that I actually pay for.
