What the hell is capcom waiting to release a NEW fighter?
Theyve just released a little while ago hyper street fighter II: anniversary edition and theyre about to release Capcom fighting evolution. Now, I love fighting games. Especially the street fighter serie. But Im kinda annoyed that they keep reusing their old sprites for their newer games. Its not too bad when youre using 1-2 years old sprites, but they're using 7-8 years old sprites in their newer games.
I think its really time for them to update the whole serie with a completely new game, not just a rehash of their previous products. Maybe its time for street fighter IV or street fighter alpha IV. |
I want them to realese a new Power Stone already. Good god I love that game. GEM GEM GEM KO!

I remember Capcom Allstars was in the works, but was canned. My guess is the game just wasn't turning around the way they wanted, so they started over on it. And yes Capcom Allstars would've been 3D. While on the Capcom note, where is my next Rival Schools?

I don't know. Lately, they've been putting out more megaman games than you can shake a stick at, but really, that's not original. Capcom thrives on sequals. They occasionally create new games, but right now, fighters arent selling. 3rd person action games are. Hence Blood Will Tell, Devil May Cry, and on another level, Viewtiful Joe. All Capcom needs is a sweet new game ever two years, and they can sequal it to death.

OMG, i completly forgot about rival schools. Rival Schools and Power Stone are 2 of my favorite fighting games ever.

The only new Capcom fighting game I'd play would be a Power Stone game, I couldn't care less about Street Fighter 4: Alpha Super Turbo Edition EX.

Street Fighter: Anniversary is as far as Capcom can take the SF2/3 series. There's just nothing else they can do with those tired old characters except throw some new guys into the mix and rerelease another low-selling version. If Capcom wants to continue making 2D fighters, they need to create a new franchise... their crossover attempts are NOT working. SNK vs. Capcom was a pile of rubbish. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was good, but again, what could they possibly add in the next version?
I think Capcom's done with fighters for a while. They milked the hell out of their successes for too long, and now they're left with dicks in hand with nothing creative to produce. |
Say what you guys want, but actions will speak louder than words.
Everytime that I walk into the arcades in Montreal the fighting game that always have a line up and crowd around is the 2001 version of Capcom vs SNK. Those machines will eat away more cash than the rest of the place ... well, not really, but it sounded good. |
